(older) Shippo x fairy reader

The sun rose high through the trees it's beacon of light making your wings glitter brightly. You were sitting on a stump watching the clouds move slowly up above. Except you weren't happy your wings were dropping. You would occasionally sigh.

A few tears managed to slip from your eyes. You had been the most popular fairy among your people. Their leader, but you failed them. They looked up to you for protection.

Your mind was working overtime, of course they'd found someone new to take your role. That replaceable were you?

Where would-

"Wow a fairy!"

"Ah!" You fell off the stump surprised by the random stranger.

He chuckled a little, "oh sorry didn't realise you were deep in thought." He offered a hand to help you up. Annoyed you took it.

"Why would you just come out of nowhere like that?" You asked while fixing your (h/c) hair.

"Well it's just kinda a thing I do."

He side stepped swiftly next to you sliding an arm around your waist. "Uh...what are you doing?" He smiled a fang catching his lower lip.

"A lady is crying and I'm supposed to not comfort her?" He said with a smirk.

This fox demon had to have learnt this stuff from somebody. "Well as much as you feel in your nature to do that-" you removed his arm.

"- I'm quite alright."

He watched as you began to walk off, he still had the smile on his lips. Again he swiftly came to you.

His finger catching a tear as it dropped from your eyelash. "Huh- wha-"

"Really? Quite alright?"

You loosened a breath you'd been holding in. "I certainly can't deny that now can I."

He put a hand to his chest, "I'm Shippo by the way."

"(Y/n)..."

He cocked his head at your now sad expression. Your breaking point had come when the hurtful thoughts came flooding back.

Shippo noticed your lip trembling as you bit it to hold back the tears. But to no avail the walls to the dam broke. You hugged yourself as the waterworks started, Shippo didn't know if you wanted to be comforted. Miroku hadn't really been clear on that fact when he asked what to do if a girl was upset.

Your managed a quick glance at the fox, his emerald pupils fixated on your own (e/c) eyes.

Shippo just decided to envelop you in his arms your face hidden in his hard chest.

"How embarrassing." You mumbled.

He stroked your head, "don't worry I've seen and done my fair share of crying."

Just then voices sounded through the bush. Both you and Shippo looked up when a male yelled.

"You found her Shippo!" It was a monk.

You blinked twice confused, "what??"

You gazed at the fox seeing his cheeks suddenly redden. "Miroku!" He gritted his teeth and didn't meet your gaze as he knew an explanation was in order.

You removed yourself from his hug, "found me??"

"Um...well...ahh." He rubbed his neck nervously.

Miroku came closer and you got a good look at him. That's when your eyes widened, "oh my god! You were that small fox kid that saved my village with your friends when I was young!"

"Hey look she remembers! Yes your correct and he grew quite a crush on you!"

Shippo hit Miroku in the jaw, "shut up!"

The monk hit the ground, "ow! You used to so nice."

Shippo had his hand balled into a fist he waved it angrily at the monk. "I'll knock you better next time!"

You jumped up and down happily, "Oh wow! WOW!"

The two glanced at you confused, you stopped now being the embarrassed one.

"Oh sorry it's just if your Miroku then that means your with Sango and you know her little brother!"

The monk nodded, "you mean Kohaku?"

"Yes!" You clapped happily.

Shippo inquired further, "what's he got to do with anything??"

You twirled a piece of your (h/c) hair, "oh well I've got quite a fondness for him."

Miroku went wide eyed at this and directed a sly grin at Shippo. Who in turn was raging inside with a volcano of jealously.

"Ah well." Shippo's tone lowered.

Miroku shook his head at the jealous fox, "I'll fix this for you bud."

Shippo raised a brow.

The monk walked behind Shippo looking at you as you were lost in thought.

"Walk up to her and I'll follow behind."

"Ok?"

Shippo did as told and walked closer to you, but you were completely oblivious.

"Now what?"

Miroku smiled, "now I start running."

"Why would you- whoah!"

Miroku pushed Shippo towards you without warning. The fox demon gripped your shoulders you snapped back to reality at the touch and looked up.

His lips smashed onto yours, you both blushed heavily. Shippo broke the kiss apart. Unable to say anything.

He turned away from you and ran to where Miroku escaped from. "MIROKU!!!!"

You stood there dumbfounded lightly touching your mouth. "What just happened?"

Miroku ran for his life, "my plan worked though now she'll think of you instead of Kohaku!"

"Not in the way I want though she'll hate me now!"

Shippo had his claws raised ready to pounce. Inuyasha and Kagome looked on watching as if this happened everyday.

Well you certainly didn't hate him you were only fond of Kohaku in the way of someone who respected him.

Fairies just had the trait of making it seem they loved somebody when they spoke  about anyone they liked.

You were now chasing after Shippo, "hey wait!"
