❝ CHAPTER EIGHT: THE DAY AFTER ❞

Mark was startled awake by the sound of the alarm going off. He really didn't want to wake up from the dreamless night that he had.

He was surprised that he didn't have any nightmares considering the events that happened the prior night. Mark shivered, remembering what Mr. Yang had done to him.

He wiped his face as he felt a tear fall down, then hit the alarm button so that it wouldn't make any more noise.

"Mark, are you awake?" Haechan asked.

It was then that Mark felt the arm that was wrapped around him, making him feel safe. He nodded, not in the mood to speak, though knowing that he would have to eventually.

"Renjun told me that he told the others in Dream about what happened to you. He thought it was best so that we could protect and help each other better," Haechan said.

Mark hummed in response. He didn't really want the others to know about what had happened, but he couldn't change the past.

"Haechan?" Mark asked softly. "Yeah?" Haechan replied, wondering what Mark would say.

"I feel dirty and used. I don't feel like myself anymore," the tears continued to fall, "Do you want me to call in that you're sick?" Haechan asked.

Mark shook his head, "No. He'll kill me if I do that, or hurt one of you like he did to me,"

"Do you want to take a shower then? That might help," Haechan suggested. Mark nodded, and slowly got up with the help of Haechan.

He winced as the pain from last night became present. "You okay?" Haechan asked, noticing that Mark stopped gettingup.

"It still hurts," Mark said. Haechan sighed, "It probably will for a little while," Haechan helped Mark to the bathroom which was down the hall.

"Do you want me to help, or do you want to be alone?" Haechan asked.

"I'll be alone. Thanks for the help," Mark said quietly. "Just don't lock the door. We can't help if anything happens," Mark nodded, and closed the door.

Haechan made his way to the kitchen to see that Renjun was making breakfast again, this time with the help of both Jeno and Chenle.

Jaemin and Jisung were sitting on the counter watching the three. Chenle was the first to notice Haechan, and went over to him, guilt visible on his face.

"Is Mark okay?" Haechan stared at Chenle, not sure how he was going to respond to that question.

Everyone else was watching the interaction. Haechan shook his head, "Physically he's still sore. As for his mental health, it's not good either,"

Chenle started to cry, "It's all my fault," he said. Jeno quickly went to bring Chenle towards the couch and held him there in a hug, calming him down.
