Nikki picks up, "Hello?"
"Hey, Nikki it's me, Max." I say nervously.
"Yes I know I have caller ID, whats up?" She asks.
I take a deep breath, "Do you wanna be my date to the dance?!" I ask a bit to loud and fast.
"Um..." There's a long pause, "... aren't you gay?"
The last word feels like a dagger of cringe through my heart... probably because I wasn't out yet.
"H-how did you know that?" I ask stumbling over my words.
"Neil." She says.
"Wha-what?" I ask.
"He told me last night." She responds.
"Yea, but you know like friends." I say.
"Sure." She says.
