Stood over the stove smiling and singing to myself as I cooked breakfast.
"Wait is my sister singing" kade asked shocked "OMG she's making breakfast too, who are you and what have you done with my Haylee"
"Piss off" I said flipping him off.
"There she is" he laughed
"Can't I be in a good mood" I said pointing the wooden spoon in his face.
"Didn't say that did i" he laughed holding his hands up "but seriously why you so happy"
"Got a good nights sleep that's all" I smiled
"Don't suppose it has anything to do with a certain mr Mathers staying in your room last night, don't think I didn't I noticed he didn't leave your room" he smirked raising his eyebrow.
"Nothing happened ok, he just held me" I whispered.
"Whatever happened I'm glad to see you smiling again it's been a while" he smiled flicking the kettle on.
About 5 minutes later I felt two strong hands on my hips and a head appeared on my shoulder.
"Morning, sleep well" marshall whispered in my ear.
"Best nights sleep I've had in a while" I whispered back.
"She also never makes breakfast and I caught her singing this morning" kade laughed.
"Shit forgot you were still there" I laughed.
"It's fine carry on, you two are cute together anyway but maybe keep it on the dl whilst Connor is still here" he nodded walking out the kitchen.
"So why was last nights sleep the best you've had" Marshall smirked as he sat on the counter.
"Oh I don't know" I smirked "maybe because of you"
"What's your plans today" he smiled
"Urm I'm heading to get a new tattoo today, probably go and see Ma and then have a chat with Connor" I said as I started to plate the food up.
"New tattoo" he smirked raising his eyebrows.
"Yeah it's kinda my thing, when I start a new chapter of my life I get a tattoo" I laughed.
"What you getting" he asked as he helped me take the plates of food to the table.
"It's a surprise" I giggled.

"Connor can we have a chat?" I asked flopping on the sofa.
"Yeah sure" he said sitting next to me.
Just then Marshall walked in the room. The last thing I needed was him to be here whilst this chat happened.
Glaring at him until he got the message.
"Hayls i can feel your eyes burning a hole in the back of my head" he laughed turning around smirking at my expression.
"ok ok I'm going" he laughed holding his hands up before walking over to where I was sat on the sofa.
"You are cute when you are being sassy" he whispered in my ear as he leans over the back of the sofa and grabbed his wallet and phone that was on the arm.
"Why are you still here" I laughed still glaring at him.
"Women chill I'm going" he laughed walking out the door.
"What did you want to talk about?" Connor asked leaning back into the sofa.
"Us" I mumbled.
"Haylee i am so sorry I don't know-"
"Connor stop" I cut him off "I don't need your apology ok."
"We aren't ever going to work are we?" He sighed.
"Unfortunately not" I whispered "not as a couple anyway, look not even 24 hours after us deciding to see where it went you fell back into your old ways. I can't go back to that. It's one of the reasons I was so reluctant to try in the first place" I said playing with the sleeves of Marshall's hoodie.
"So what happens now?" He asked.
"Well I think it's best if we go our separate ways, I'm not saying I won't be your friend because as friends we work. We always have. But I think we just need space from each other for now" I said looking up.
"Ok, I will be out of your hair in a couple of days then" he whispered "you know I will always love you right"
"Yeah I know, you will always have a part of my heart even though of our past" I whispered.
Just then my phone started to ring. Not even looking at the caller ID I answered.
"Hello"
"Haylee it's your Ma" Marshall breathed
"What's happened" I asked in shock.
"She's taken a turn for the worst, you need to get down to the hospital ASAP"
"Ok I will be there in like 15 mins" I whispered. In the back ground I heard Kade arguing with the doctor and Lexi trying to calm him down.
"I'm gonna have to go, need to hold kade back" he sighed.
The line went dead.
Without a second thought I grabbed my keys and ran out the door.
I needed to get to my Ma. Even though she couldn't remember be I couldn't lose her.
