Chapter Five

Noelani

The party starts in a few minutes. I'm not that excited but my mom is very excited and I feel like she's hiding something from me. She would avoid me on when I ask a question. I know she's up to something.

I was changing Bastet diaper when my mom bust in the room hanging up the phone. "What's wrong?"I ask.

"Lani, we need to talk"she spoke. Oh boy. I know something bout to hit by heart heavily. "Dave just called me"

"Why the hell you still have his number?!"I semi yelled. I throw my head back pissed at her ass.

"Watch your tone with me"she got all up in my face. "And he called me because peaches is back in New York. Want me to get rid of her"

"He can do that himself"I rolled my eyes.

"Well he can't cause he don't know where she be at or hiding. He also wants to see Bastet"she said.

"Why"I mumble. "I don't want to see him after what he did to me and Bastet....."

"That happen months ago. I know you forgave him, just let it go and move on"My mother said.

"Something in me telling me to not let it go"I sigh. "I don't trust dave"

"Well if you can't let it go, stay here in Oklahoma while I go to New York"my mother exit out the room leaving me and Bastet both stuck. I look down at Bastet who was looking up at me.

"Don't give me those puppy dog eyes. I know you never met your father before but I guess you should go see him. I just don't wanna go but I have to"I rolled my eyes. "Do you want to go?"

Bastet smiled a little bit making her baby noise. Only a few days old, got her eyes open and making noises already.

I smiled at everyone who tried to talk to me. All I said was a hello and goodbye. Bastet was in my arms sleep. My mother was talking to some people I guess to help out her shop.

"Awwww, look at the beautiful precious child and her beautiful mother"I turn around seeing my mother little geek nerd Timon. He was all dressed up smiling down at me. Now if y'all think Timon is straight. Nope. He's gay.

"Where is you going afterwards?"I ask him. He shrugged his shoulders looking at this man at the bar. "Mmmmm, going home with him I see"

"Ewww no. The bar tender"Timon smiled widely. "The man that's sipping the liquor is looking forward on working with your mother"I look closely at the bar seeing the man that I saw yesterday and today. God he's fine.

"You heard the news"I look over at my mother.

"Momma bear going visit poppa bear back in New York"

"Cause grandma bear wants to finish business with Ashlee"I spoke. "All because poppa bea.... why the fuck am I saying poppa and momma"I hissed which cause Timon to laugh.

"God that was funny, but anyways I think you should take that trip and go Noelani"—"Dave is also missing his little cub"Timon rubbed Bastet head.

"Maybe your right"I mumble. "Wanna hold Bastet while I make my move"

"On who?"

"Him"I pointed to the man at the bar.

"Not your momma partner. She needs him and she don't want you to mess it up by fucking him"Timon said.

"Fine Timon"I rolled my eyes then grabbed Bastet putting her back in my arms. "I hate you"I walked away from Timon.
