Diana was upset! The office became more upside down the longer Charles stayed away.

Given the reports from her staff and office gossip, Charles had been at the office only when necessary leaving her plate beyond full a task which she did not necessarily find appealing. Even more aggravating had been the fact that he had been spending time with some poor side chick, the reports simulated, how true she had yet to deduce.

She'd been aware for many years of Charles other relationships but usually one night stands and good old fun the fact that he had shacked up with this woman and was entertaining her sick teenager was maddening and seemed to be more than a one night stand, she grew weary of the constant work she had to put into keeping him and every time she pulled him in he withdrew; they were locked in the constant cat and mouse games and she wished he would realize that she was the best thing for him.

She made his company and its many extensions work. She took the load off so he could run off without her to find happiness and she was good in bed, or at least so she'd been told. She couldn't understand what more a man could need. It infuriated her so that no matter how compassionate he seemed she always had to be the fixer in the situation.

She'd had some time to think about Charles, about taking over Morgan Enterprises and about if a life with him was worth it and she'd decided it was so yet again she was going to throw herself into the fray that was Charles Morgan willingly. Diana wasn't sure his love was worth fighting for as that seemed fragile to say the least but his money was and he was handsome, rich and powerful and she enjoyed the power that came with being with him it greatly outweighed the disadvantages of him not loving her as he should.

Her aunt Liam from Florida felt so also, Diana chuckled to herself if Charles could play so could she especially given all the work she had put into this relationship in the last ten years. She'd have to go visit but first, she had to put things in place that Charles did not and should have if she was going to marry him the money was the best part of it so she could not let him go broke. Diana dug in and started clearing her desk she would be working 24/7 for a week to make sense of it all.

Charles lost himself at his desk there were several reports to be read and emails to be answered and he tried as hard as he could to devote himself to the task so that his mind would stray far from Nathalie's seemingly potent disinterest in him and Jessie's troubling medical situation, he strayed so far that he hadn't noticed the time pass.

His phone buzzed several times but no one he wanted to talk to had called; again it rang and he unresponsively pulled himself away from the computer to look at the caller – Diana was calling. He stopped what he was doing and picked the phone up from the table cautiously examining the red and green circles to the bottom of the phone asking him to reject or take the call.

While his blank mind weighed the options without ever once considering the choice before him the phone stopped ringing and the choice was made, Charles leaned back in his chair and spun around to look out the window behind him; he closed his eyes and heard the knock at his study door he didn't answer or turn to address the interruption but simply angled his head to the edge of the chair. The knock came again and then he heard the door open and close, he turned his chair slightly to see Diana walking into his space turning his chair back to the window he placed his hands against his temples and rubbed.....hard.

Diana came around the stately oak desk stopping a few feet in front of him separating him from the light of the moon which filtered through the window, he could smell her as she leaned over his chair and placed both hands firmly on the armrests bringing her face within millimeters of his before she kissed him "Hi honey, have you missed me?" She said, Charles, removed his hands from his temples and opened his eyes to connect with her muddy brown eyes but didn't answer her question. "I guess not," Diana said and shrugged before she stood straight maintaining her position over Charles "Don't feel like talking to me either?"
