The thunder rolled in the gray sky as they walked slowly towards Jessies' gravestone and Charles could see a dark silhouette standing over her grave as they approached, he only offered the name Colt when Nathalie asked.

He saw the creases dot her face in confusion but knew it was clear that he knew the intruder on their time with Jessie when she chose not to push for answers.

Charles took the last few steps towards his father "I would ask, 'what are you doing here?', but I don't think I want the answer" he said to Colt positioning Nathalie between them in front of Jessies' gravestone.

Charles could feel Colt taking in the atmosphere as he freely gawked at Nathalie coming to his own conclusions while the lightning brightened the darkness of the cemetery.

She stayed focused on Jessie deciding not to be part of the tension that was building.

"Hi, Nathalie I assume I'm Colt, my condolences on your loss," Colt said making his own introductions

He extended his hand and Nathalie looked to him for reassurance before taking it without ever uttering a response she then reached for his hand and he helped her kneel on Jessies' grave where she unbundled the white lilies she'd bought and stuck them into the ground one at a time.

His focus remained on Nathalie's' actions "Why are you here?"

"I heard it on good authority that I had a granddaughter, so I came to see for myself," Colt said

He saw Nathalie stumble in her actions at Colts admission, now comprehending the unease.

"Yes that's right my dear, I'm his father"

Nathalie took a narrative look over her shoulder and up at Colt before returning to her task

"It would've been nice if my handsome son had let me in on his little secret, or rather his big secret"

"Don't you have anywhere else to be Colt?"

"I'd like to pay my respects. I would've liked to be invited to the funeral instead of finding out from Diana"

"Diana knows nothing of this"

"Then she's told Grace a lot more than she knows"

Charles got down on one knee beside Nathalie and put an arm around her kissing her as he did. "I'm going to walk Colt back to his car, I'll be right back."

She nodded and he stood and walked away, his emotions as loud as the thunder that rolled.

The lightning bold followed with Colt.

"You didn't have to do this, this way"

"I did try getting in contact but you've been avoiding me care to explain"

"No dad I don't"

They were well out of Nathalie's earshot when Colt grabbed his shoulder firmly and pulled him to a stop

"Grace your mother keeps telling me about the fun events at Alina"

"Dad"

"Grace through whom I learned of the existence of Nathalie on a night when you accidentally informed me that my granddaughter had passed. Would've been nice to be invited to the funeral" Colt echoed

Charles rolled his head and an uninterested groaned escaped his throat; he settled his eyes on Colt

"Again Colt, why are you here?" Charles asked the ensuing weather menacing in the sky

"' Colt', what happened to dad!" he gestured

"What did Grace tell you!" Charles braced his father as they restarted a less tempered pace to Colts car
