Nathalie wasn't sure that she was in the mood for the cold tonight but Charles seemed set
"I'm sitting on the side of the pool I think cold water is therapeutic for recently un-casted ankles"
Charles laughed "James did suggest therapy".
"I'll take that option," she said sitting down as Charles removed his shoes to join her Nathalie looked at the ripples as the wind blew across its surface and felt warmth flow inside her as Charles sat close and placed his arm around her shoulder. She knew it'd be cold outside but she forgot all about the butterflies which she now carried in her stomach every time he was around.
"This water really feels delightful"
"You had a hard day"
"Wasn't hard but wasn't easy either"
"Was it hard because of Diana"
"That and other things"
"You don't like when I ask about Diana"
"I wouldn't say that it's just that I would prefer that she stays out of our relationship as much as possible"
"That will be hard to do if you have to work with her every day."
"Jealous, are we?"
She squinted her eyes and glared at him callously then turned her emotions over to the cool water. She felt Charles's arms circle her waist and with little effort, he drew her close to his side.
Charles leaned his face against hers and rubbed his nose against her cheek then firmly planted his lips in the same spot where his nose had just been carousing her face she felt her face turned red at his touch "Stop it, Charles"
"Why don't my kisses feel good
"Too good," Nathalie said trembling slightly at his warm touch she liked it too much and he kept talking about marriage but she wasn't sure if she was ready to tie her all to Charles Morgan and his life but it was clear that he was and he was the kind of man who liked to have his way.
"It's not much longer before the changes take effect we've got to give it some time."
"I know but the way she looked at me when I walked into your office I hope you know that that woman is not going to give you up easily"
"Diana has been at my side for ten years she knows how to run Morgan Enterprises my way as for our intimate relationship I know exactly how she feels and I'm working around it as best as I can"
"Do you think there's any chance that things might ever go back to how it was with her"
"No, I'm sorry if it makes you uncomfortable but I don't think I have another option"
"Are you sure"
"I've even considered hiring one of the board members sons but the research didn't go in his favor"
"Why?"
"Anyone I hire now means that I can't do the studio I'll have to keep my position to train them. That'll take years"
"What's so bad about that?"
"I've spent years building that company it's important to me to build my own and time won't easily allow me to do both"
"I just feel it's going to be awkward"
"I think everyone will adjust, it's just going to take a little time"
"Spoken like a true businessman," Nathalie said and as she did she saw Charles pat his pocket again; his hand had been pinned there most of the evening and she wondered what he was up to "Are you going to give me an idea of my new job at the studio soon?"
