Chapter Five

"You Coming..."

Justin's Point Of View

"Selena,"

She looks up from her phone and looks at me.

"Can you help me?" I ask, giving her a puppy dog face.

"You always need my help." Selena says as she puts her phone down on her desk and scoots closer to me. "What problem?"

"This one." I point to problem number twenty.

We were in Spanish class and-of course-Mrs. Garcia had given us a handout right away; literally right when we walked through her class door. It was front and back and due by the end of class. Selena was already finished with the handout in less then fifteen minutes -I don't know how she does this so fast-while I was only now working on the back side.

"This one is easy, Justin!" Selena says.

"For you maybe!" I reply.

"It's in your binder on our new set of vocabulary words."

"But that means I have to pull my binder out of my book bag."

"Awe, you poor thing." she says, pouting her lip.

I can't help but smile. She's so cute.

"Please help me." I beg.

Selena rolls her eyes and looks at the handout for a second before looking back up at me. "What is 'pencil sharpener'?"

"If I knew, I wouldn't be begging for you to help me." I laugh.

"It's 'el sacapuntas'." Selena says.

There's a difference between Selena and I. When she speaks in Spanish she has no trouble at all saying the words or saying the sentences-she says them just as good as Mrs. Garcia. With me, that's a different story. I basically sound like a toddler just learning their first words.

I'm starting to think Selena knows a little bit more then just the basics of Spanish.

"I knew that." I say as I write it down.

Selena laughs. "Then why did you ask for my help?"

"Just wanted to see if you actually knew it or not."

Selena shakes her head as she smiles and playfully hits me in my arm.

It's been two weeks since Selena was found laying down in the middle of that locker bay. And I have to admit that these past two weeks have probably been the best days that I have spent in a long time because: I found out Selena and Vanessa are in my sixth period History class; Vanessa and I have begun to become good friends after what had happened at lunch on the second day of school between us; and Selena and I have gotten really close by spending these two weeks together almost every day.

I continued to work on the handout as Selena got back on her phone.

"Awe man." Selena unexpectedly says a few minutes later.

"What?" I say as I write down the last blank answer on the handout. Finally, I finished.

"Vanessa went home sick." she says sadly.

"She didn't sound or look to good this morning. I figured she wasn't feeling good at all." I reply.

"Now I'm going to be stuck in sixth period dealing with you." Selena gives me a flirty smile before a soft giggle escapes her mouth.

"Your problem, not mine." I say with a wink.

"Will we be back in time?" Selena asks nervously.
