Chapter Six

"Movies..."

Selena's Point Of View

"Let this class end already, please."

I laugh as Justin rubs his face with his hands as he groans in annoyance.

"We only have fifteen minutes left until this class ends." I say.

"You'll survive." Vanessa chimes in.

"Thank god it's an early dismissal today." Justin says.

"You still have to suffer through one more class, you know."

"Don't remind me."

We were currently in History class and it was probably my most boring class that I've had today. We've been taking notes so far this entire class period and I honestly think my hand is going to fall off by how much notes I've written down. My hand was throbbing. I was praying we weren't going to be taken notes for the last fifteen minutes of class.

As if my prayers had been answered, our teacher made us put our notebooks away.

"I thought for sure he was going to make us take notes the entire class period." Justin whispers to me.

"So did I." I reply. "My hand is about to fall off!"

"You bunch of babies, I swear." Vanessa says with a smile. "I wouldn't be too relieved though."

"Class," our teacher said seconds later. "Please take out your history books and turn to page 232. As you read chapter six I want you to jot down notes."

Justin and I groan as we pull out our history books. "Guess we thought wrong." Justin says.

I nod my head in agreement as I flip my book open to the right page and take out a piece of paper.

I check to see how many pages there were for this chapter; six pages-front and back. Seriously? I look up at the clock and realize only three minutes have passed by. I really wasn't feeling like reading this chapter. I could just read it for homework.

I sighed as I pretended to start reading the chapter as the teacher walked by my desk. I watched as he made his way to his desk, sitting down in his chair and getting onto his computer.

I suddenly felt something nudge against my leg, scaring me slightly. I looked down and saw Justin's hand holding a folded up piece of paper. I looked at him as he nudged my leg again with the paper. I took the paper out of his hand and scanned it. It was a note.

I looked up to see if the teacher was looking-he wasn't-before I started unfolding the piece of paper, trying to not make any sound. But the way Justin had folded the paper almost made it impossible.

Once unfolded, I placed the paper on my lap.

"This is torture." the note said.

I bit my lip to hold in my laughter.

"Tell me about it." I write down on the paper before folding it back up-less times then it was before-and nudged it against Justin's leg.

He quickly took it from my hand and started unfolding it. I could see a small smile creep onto his face as he read what I had said back.

I looked back down at the open book on my desk and decided to at least scan through the chapter a little. It would save me a little time from having to read the whole chapter for homework.

Again, I felt a nudge on my leg. Without looking away from the book, I reached my hand down and took the note out of Justin's hand.

"I have a question to ask you..." Justin had written.
