"Thank you for accompanying me tonight," Momo said as she flashed a sweet smile at Mark which Mark returned back.

"That's what a boyfriend is for," Mark replied. Momo exhaled quietly. "Mark..." She called out to the boy walking next to her. She halted. "Hmm?" Mark hummed in response also stopping his steps.

"I would like to talk to you about something." She said. Mark remained silent waiting for her to continue. "About us." Mark is still silent looking down at his feet.

"I think we have to stop." She spoke out her feeling though she was hesitating. She hesitates because she did not know how Mark will respond, or because she actually does not care about how Mark will feel. "You think?" Mark asked softly with his eyes still on the ground but his feet slowly dragged him a few inches behind.

"Yeah. Our relationship is not working out. As you see, we are both busy with our life and school---"

"I don't need..." Mark cut her words. "Explanation," He continued. She was shocked beyond relief.

'I know that a day like this will come. I have been counting down the days, since our first date.' Mark's heart can't help but talk to himself. Because he honestly knew what is coming for their relationship since the first day he asked her out. But, he can't stop himself from wanting to be with this girl so bad.

No matter how many times his head told him to stop. He himself knows too well that none of his relationships last long.

A total silence surrounded them. Both had lost their words.

'After all, does it ever work out? Not even one time.' He silently whispered to his heart as he walked away leaving Momo on the street with dim light showering above her head, under the dark sky above them.

'Does the night sky always this dark? I wonder... it looks like tonight is the darkest one.'

He couldn't bear it anymore. He dragged himself to the empty bus stop. The bus surely had stopped running by that time. He sat there silently by himself. There was crickets' noise but in Mark's ear, the world was in total dead silence.

His thought wanders around the universe. He did not know what is wrong or what the problem is. Maybe he is destined to have a bad relationship. Maybe he is destined to be alone. There's no need to talk about his past or about his family, everyone has it: a dark past, bad memories, and a dysfunctional family. Life was just so miserable at that moment.

And he couldn't wish for more other than for the sky to also cry that night. So at least, he didn't have to feel weak for crying it all out.

Because... the rain was pouring heavily that night.
