They wish for happiness. But, life likes to play with humans. Mostly their feelings. Humans are like a toy. Life brokes people, especially the heart.
But life is not that cruel. They were broken into pieces so then, they can meet the person who can truly fix them.
So, in conclusion, two heart-broken people are destined to meet each other and supposedly to stay side by side.
Neither Dahyun nor Mark asked to be left out.
-----
Dahyun smiled to herself in the mirror. She wondered if she can go back to her old self. Being apart and awkward around her childhood friend felt like she was being robbed and left alone with nothing. It's not like she didn't have any other friends, but he is the reliable one and being around him is so comfortable. As if there is nothing to be afraid of.
But, it turns out that childhood friend of her is what she afraid of the most. Losing him or missing him? No, his existence is what terrified her the most.
She walked down the corridor that leads to her class. She was looking down at the floor throughout the way that she didn't realize she almost bumps to something, or particularly to someone.
Seeing a pair of sneakers in front of her, she looked up while muttering a few apologize that soon stopped in the middle of the air. Hanging.
"Youngjae." That name is what she manages to say. "Hi..." He replied. It wasn't hatred or disgusted or anything negative. But, those voice seems so distant.
"Long time no see." She muttered out. Awkward? Yes. Too awkward that Dahyun felt like dying. She hates this.
"Yeah. It's been a while..." Youngjae replied softly. "I need to go back to my class," Dahyun said with her head hanging low, she left Youngjae at that vacant corridor.
-----
She sighed out a heavy breath with one of her hands on her chest. 'That was such a great amount of burdens.' She thought to herself.
She knew that she was supposed to be at her class by now. But she didn't think she can process anything being taught by the teacher. So she decided to go to the abandoned class at the end of the corridor. It was a creepy place in other views. But, Dahyun likes it there. At least, it was quiet.
She closed the door quietly. She didn't want to disturb the peace coming from that class. "Do you usually hang out here?" To her surprise, a voice greeted her. Is it real that this abandoned class overflowed with free spirits? She turned around slowly and found out that---
It was just her senior. She read the name embroidered on the school uniform.
Mark Tuan.
Never did she heard this name before. But actually, never did she knows anyone's names before. Except for her classmates and Youngjae.
"Do you?" Mark tried to ask again after getting no reply from Dahyun. He didn't want to bother anyone peace and he would leave right away if Dahyun told him to.
"I do. But, not frequently." Dahyun replied. Mark nodded his head. "Do you want me to leave?" He asked. Dahyun thought for a while. Contemplating her decision. Sure she wanted to be alone but having Mark here with her slightly make her feel... less lonely.
Dahyun shook her head.
They both knew that they wanted someone's existence in the desire wanting to be alone.
Least that they know, they started talking to each other and ended up sitting there together.
Side by side.
