Chapter 4- New technologies

//Uma's P.O.V.//
CJ promised to show me how that new tech works and here we are. Kida joined us as well as we came across some sort of stones. I noticed how both of them used the necklaces to power up the rocks and once they started floating, they were glowing the same blue colour Mal has on her cheek. I hope she finds the Orb and gets her answers as she saves everyone. I knew she was different the very moment I met her that day on the beach. I just can't understand how the world could be so cruel on her. She deserves so much. She better be having fun on her date..not too much though..
I laughed at my own thoughts as I approaced the machine and touched it with the necklace. At first, nothing happened.
**You must feel the vibrations waving through your body. The crystals grant us the energy to power up the mechanisms that we use, but we must control it. It's all in your mind.** Kida said as she hopped on the fish-like stone.
I did as told and indeed, I felt that I was in control. The fish lit up and started floating. I hopped on as well and followed the girls as they gave me a high level tour of Atlantis.
**This is awesome!!!** I was laughing of joy and pure bliss as the adrenaline rushed through my veins.
**I told you so!!** CJ yelled back and the three of us began a race around the city. Kida is more experienced so, of course she won but it was a tie between CJ and I. This girl is full of surprises. She reminds me of the adventurous side of me.
**How is Atlantis? Do you like it so far?** Kida asked curious.
**I love it! And the night tour was an incredible idea!**
**Indeed. Atlantis is a very beautiful city especially in the night time.**
CJ interrupted us:
**You know what's just as beautiful?** She looked at the building behind us and continued as Kida and I looked in the same direction. **Those two lovers.**
We spotted Mal and Harry kissing on the balcony and two lamps floating in the sky. Smart move, Harry.
**They're so beautiful together..** Kida's voice said something else..she was sad..was it regret?
**What's the problem?** I asked.
**I wish their love would be strong enough to last..**
**What do you me-**
**The trials, remember?!** She sat down next to the machines. **I fear what's about to happen..**
**Do you know something that we don't?**
**It's a win or lose deal. She either wins or loses her friends.**
**Harry and I?**
She got up fast and faced me. Her face was serious.
**You mean the world to her. Don't you dare betray her!**
**Betray her?! I would never! I came all the way here for her!**
**Some things better stay untold. Once they are spoken, they can hurt people.** It was a warning. So I should keep my mouth shut. But what could I say that would possibly hurt her? It has to be about the dreams we all shared..or the embers I was told to destroy..
I looked one more time at Mal and Harry and one thought remained in my mind. Could I possibly hurt them?

//CJ's P.O.V.//
**What was that about?!** I asked Kida who just stared at my brother and his girlfriend.
**You wouldn't understand..**
**Both of you are acting weird.** And then it hit me. **As if you knew something.**
**Calista...**
**Tell me! Please..**
She sighed. **I had a dream.**
Oh no.. don't tell me.... She continued.
**One of them, Harry or Uma betrayed Mal. And that led to her unleashing something..** And she paused. I can see it's painful for her to recall the dream. Because I know that dream very well..it's the dream in which I called for my brother.. Mal was drowning..Uma was suffocating..
Harry loves Mal..And I know my brother...he would never hurt her. He would give his own life for her. But Mal and Uma have a sister bond..they can't become enemies...Can they?!

//No one's P.O.V//
Uma was back in her room. She couldn't shake this feeling she was having. She knew something bad was about to happen..but was it gonna be her fault? She wanted to be alone. She couldn't face anyone at the moment. Kida was blaming her for a possible betrayal and CJ had witnessed the scene so she definitely didn't want to see her friend nor the purplette. But someone didn't think the same way. A knock on the door was heard, but Uma didn't reply. The door was unlocked so the person entered her room. She tried her best to look like she was asleep but she couldn't fool her. She knew her better.
**What's wrong?** The girl spoke with a soft but concerned voice.
'She cannot be...' Uma thought.
**I felt that something wasn't right. Please tell me what happened.** The girl sat on her bed as she placed a hand on her friend. At this point, a few tears escaped Uma's eyes. She didn't want her to see her like this. Weak.
**We've been through thick and thin together. Not stopping that now. You know you can always talk to me.**
The girl spoke again. Uma turned around and hugged the purplette really tight, never wanting to let her go.
Tears were running on her face as she said through gasps **I'm sorry.**
**For what?**
**The dreams we've had. I hurt you. I will hurt you. But I don't want to. I'm sorry.** She was crying her eyes out now as Mal was holding her close.
**You won't hurt me..** Even if Uma were to hurt Mal, she knew that she wouldn't meant it.
**I care too much about you to lose you. I-** And she stopped when she realised what she was about to say. She couldn't believe herself. She was shocked. Mal lifted up her chin so she'd look into her eyes.
**Hey.. We promised we'd stick together, no matter what. You are my friend** she paused **my sister. What we have is beyond the limits.**
They were looking into each other's eyes, faces really close and no one said anything. It was completely quiet. Uma took a quick glimpse of Mal's rosy lips and words escaped her mouth a bit too quick. **Harry. Weren't you two on a date?!** She regretted saying the sentence as Mal distanced herself a bit and they both came back to reality.
**I felt that something wasn't right and I came to check up on you. Turns out I was right.**
**You should go. He must be waiting for you.** It was so painful for her to say this..
**Not until I make sure you are alright. I am not leaving you.**
**I'm fine. Now that you are here, I feel a bit better.** She couldn't believe that she was lying to her friend.
**I don't believe you..**
**I'm alright. Really. You shouldn't waste your first date. Go get him, girl.**
They both smiled as Mal gave Uma one last hug for the night and let her rest as she joined Harry once again.
**Everything alright?** Harry asked.
**Yes. Now where were we?** She asked playfully as Harry picked her up and kissed her. They both left the Palace again to spend the rest of their date together watching the lights of Atlantis in the blackness of the night.
