I stared at my hands as they glowed an unusual silver, the threads of light that seemed to radiate from my body reminded me of the moons light the danced below me, on the sea bed. Hadrian stared at me, clearly he seemed curious yet afraid.
Something seemed to spark inside of me and ignite. The world seemed to slow down for a moment, the waves seemed softer as the water caressed my skin. Then it happened, in a brief moment, the silver light seemed to blast from my body and incredibly large wave seemed to appear, echoing the unusual light that had left my body.
The glow of my body slowly dimmed and I began to feel weak. My body began to sink and swiftly, Hadrian came to my aid. I felt his arms wrap around my waist and the water rush past me as he began to swim faster than I had ever known him too.
But it seemed little use, it were as if something were leaving me and soon, I lost consciousness. The dark, mysterious world of the ocean at night seemed to fade into nothingness, or what I can only describe as a distant memory.
The next morning, I awoke, startled and confused. My surroundings seemed unfamiliar and I found myself wrapped in the arms of Hadrian. I sat up immediately, and looked around. It appeared as though I were in some sort of cave with a strange pool in the middle.
Gently, I touched the soft, warm sand that I'd been laying on as Hadrian looked up at me and seemed to smile softly. He gently caressed the bruising on my face once more and I smiled in return.
"Crap!" I whispered as I suddenly realised that it wasn't the moon's light coming into the cave, but the light of day. "What time is it? I have to go!"
At first, Hadrian seemed confused by my actions before he seemed to become stubborn and wouldn't allow me to leave. I stared at him in confusion before I managed to dive into the water and he followed. He grabbed my hand and tried to get me to turn around but I didn't. I continued to swim onward but now I wish I had turned around.
As I arrived on land and quickly rushed onto the shore before wrapping my body in a towel that I had left well hidden from the world, I began to approach the edge of the small beach. Hadrian called after me, but I ignored him. Ignored the pain in the strange noise he seemed to create.
I glanced over at him and waved, "I'll be back tomorrow night, I promise," and with those words he seemed more at peace yet something still seemed to frighten him as he swam back into the ocean. Slowly, my gaze fell on the world around me and I couldn't believe what had occurred over night.
Was this my fault? Had I done something? Had I caused this?
