Becca's POV

I woke up to the sunlight shining through my windows and into my room, I rolled my body over only to find out that Kio was beside me, sleeping. I started to panic, did we do anything? did I say anything bad to him? oh gosh, I wonder how embarrassing I was last night.

I quickly but quietly got out of bed, opened the door and went to the kitchen. I grabbed myself a cup of water and sipped on it to hydrate my body. I then went into the living room and turned on the television.

"Reporting live on channel9's office; There has been a plane crash on a flight that is on the way to Italy, police have confirmed the death of ..."

When I heard what that reporter said on the news, the names she mentioned, I did not want to believe any of it. My mind went blank, was my mother and father really gone, the ones that have been taking care of me since I was a baby and the one that has been providing me money every single day and the one that has been feeding and giving me a place to call home, were they really gone?

My eyes started tearing up, my vision was starting to blur, I felt like I couldn't breathe, I started screaming out of pain and hurt and for the fact that I was having a panic attack. I could feel myself getting light headed but the only thing I heard before I blacked out was someone screaming my name.

Kio's POV:

I woke up to an empty bed, I wondered where Becca was but before I could even move out of bed, I heard screaming coming from the living room. I decided to check it out but what I saw when I reached the living room shocked me even more.

Becca was there, lying on the floor, her face was pale and her heart rate was fast, I didn't know what happened and I also didn't know what to do but thank god her brother came down and helped me by instructing me on what to do.

It seems like this is not the first time she had blacked out. After carrying her to her room to let her rest I went to the living room, the television was on and it is on a news channel, I did not think much of it so I just took the remote, turned the television off and went back into Becca's room.

I took my phone and started scrolling through Instagram and Twitter when all of a sudden, Becca sat up as fast as she could and started panting really hard.

Kio: Hey, hey calm down. Are you okay?

After I said that she burst into tears, I was confused as to why she started crying but I knew that now is not the right time to ask about it so I went up to her and hugged her. The both of us just sat there hugging each other, comforting each other not in a verbal way but more of a physical way.

Once she calmed herself down, she said

Becca: My parents are dead, the news just confirmed it.

Kio: Omg I'm so sorry Becca, I- I didn't know.

Becca: I didn't either... I don't know how I'm going to tell this to Nick, I told him that if our parents ever die, I was going to be there for him but right now I can't even talk about this without tearing up.

Kio: Its normal you know, it's okay to cry.

Becca: It's not, I am Nicks guardian now and I am the only one he has left, what if I die, he would have been left all alone... I can't do that to him, Kio, I cant

Kio: Okay, if you think you cant talk about this any more than I will help you tell Nick okay? I will always be here for you Becca, remember that

We hugged again but this time, Nick walked in and asked

Nick: What is it that you need to tell me?

Kio: um, I think its better if you sit down for this one.

Nick sat down and started looking at me, he looked so clueless and innocent, I was so nervous to break the news to him but I knew Becca couldn't do it so I had to.

Kio: Your parents had just been confirmed to be dead by Channel9

Nick: Haha alright you got me, funny joke Kio

Kio: I am serious Nick, they're... gone, your sister is all you have now.

Nick: No, say sike right now.

Kio: I'm sorry Nick but this is not a prank

Nick did not say another word but instead, he ran out of Becca's room and into his room, slamming his door shut.

Becca: I don't know what to do Kio, my parents were the first two people I've ever loved, they helped me when nobody else wanted to. They are my hero and now they are just... gone

I didn't say anything because I did not want to hurt her anymore. I just went to her and kept telling her it was going to be alright. I knew exactly what I had to do now so I told her that I was going to do something and with that I left her house, zooming right out of the house and into my car. I drove off to Walmart and began my shopping spree...
