Nina's pov:
Time passed quickly and school already ended. I didn't saw Colton or the guys today and the whole school was silent for some reason. No rumors, no whispering.
I met the girls near Amy's car in the parking lot.
"Any place for tonight?" Eva asked leaning her back on the car.
"I need to go home early. Mom invited some guests over." Amy sighed.
"And I have to complete some work in the library," I added and Eva sighed.
"Well seems like I'm going to bed early tonight." She said and we chuckled.
"See you tomorrow," I said and they nodded.
I made my way to the library while Amy went to drove Eva home. The library was empty. Besides me and the front lady, there was only dust. I picked up the books that I need and started to work.
The books were old and dusty. No wonder no one comes here nowadays. I glanced at the lady and she was reading one of the big books in the library. She was old. She kept pushing her glasses on her nose as she bends to read.
I looked back at my paper and sighed. I only wrote three lines and I needed at least two-three papers of these notes.
-----
I didn't notice it was getting dark till the lady turn on the lights in the room. I glanced at the clock and saw it was 6:30 pm. Damn, it's late.
I checked my phone and saw no missed call, which means that mom wasn't back home yet. I packed my stuff and put the book back on the shelf. I swing my bag on one shoulder and made my way out.
I hated how the street looked deserted. Where were the people? Did they go to bed so early?
I walked at my normal pace, looking around. There were many alleys and small route between the houses and the buildings.
One of my bag's chains fell on the ground making a loud noise and I turned around to pick it up. However, it was only then that I noticed, I was being followed again.
I looked at the guys and they were the same as in the morning. What the fuck!
I picked the chain and turned around walking faster. I wasn't going to fight them when I was alone. It would be a wrong move from me.I jogged across the road and try to lose them in one of the alleys. I was almost out of the alley when a hand grabbed my wrist and pulled me behind one of the big trash bins. My back collides harshly against the wall and my ass touched the ground. I hissed in pain and a hand covers my mouth. I looked up and saw Adrian looking at me. He motioned me to stay quiet as he removed his hand from my mouth.
We were both sitting behind the trash bin, which was big enough to hide us and that was smelling really bad.
I felt his hand going under my jacket and he started to rub my back making small circles with his hand to ease the pain.
"Where the fuck did she go?" A voice echoed in the alley.
"We fucking lose her... Find her!" Another voice ordered.
Adrian pulled me closer to his side and we could hear their footsteps running away from us. I opened my mouth to talk but Adrian immediately covered my mouth.
"These idiots better find her." A voice said.
It was getting hard to breathe with that awful smell coming from the trash bin. Adrian removed his hand from my mouth and I put my hand on my nose. I looked on the ground and we were lucky that it was cleaned. I looked at the wall and it was really dirty as if someone vomits on it. I gagged looking at that.
Adrian must have noticed me looking at it since he put his hand behind my head and pulled my head near his neck. I could smell his man cologne. I felt my cheeks heat up by how close we were.
After a few more minutes, he stood up, pulling me with him. He grabbed my wrist and ran the other way that the guys went.
When we were far from them, we stopped running. We were both out of breathing.
"What just happened?" I asked once my breathing pattern was back to normal.
"Nothing serious beside you being followed by a group of guy." He shrugged and I glared at him.
"Do you know them?" I asked and he shakes his head no.
"How would I know them?" He asked defensively.
"Then how the fuck did you know where I was?" I asked crossing my arms around my chest.
"We shouldn't be talking about this here. They might be around. Better reach your place before they reached you." He said walking in front of me. I jogged and reached him.
"You didn't reply to my question," I said and he shrugged.
"I don't want to." He said calmly.
"What does that mean? Adrian, you need to tell me. Do you know them?" I asked again and he sighed.
"Why do you want to know? What if I know them huh?" He asked and I raised an eyebrow.
"Because this morning when I went jogging with the girls in the park, they were following us all the way. So if you know them, better tell me now." I stated and he frowned.
"It's not the first time they follow you?" He asked concerned.
"No, they did it twice," I answered.
"Fuck!" He swore, "Ok, let's just forget that and get you home."
We walked to my place and I walked to the front door.
"I didn't mean to hurt you in the alley. I'm sorry if you got hurt."
I turned around and saw him already staring at me.
"It's okay. I'm good." I said.
"Are you sure?" He asked and I nodded.
"I'm sure," I said and he nodded.
"I'll see you around then."
With that, he turned around and walked away leaving me staring at his back. I opened the door and walked to my room.
