Chase
I heard the whole conversation between Autumn and her brother, Asher I think. Did he call the cops? If he did then I had to run, like now.
I jumped down next to Autumn. "Hey, what did your brother mean by the cops catching up to us? Would he really call the cops?"
"No," she said, sighing. "He just thinks you'll get me in trouble or something."
I sighed "Good, if he had called the cops I would have to go. Hey we never finished our game. Want to continue? I also want to show you a place, I'm pretty sure you've been there before, but I think it's amazing, wanna go?"
"Sure," she replied.
I smiled. "This way." I lead her away from the tree and farther into the woods. "So, what do you in your free time?"
"Most of the times I like to walk around town or the woods. What's your favorite animal?"
"Wolf, dragons are also pretty cool. I saw one when I was travailing with my dad. Who is your best friend?" I lead her deeper into the forest. "We're almost there."
"Hmm. I don't know, really. I have a lot of friends. People find me very approachable for some reason. Where did you see a dragon?" Her eyes grew wide.
I chuckled. "It was a a long time ago, when I was.... 5ish I think. It was across the sea, on a small island. How many places have you lived?" I stopped right in front of her "Close your eyes I want it to be a surprise."
"Okay," she said, closing her eyes. "This town is the only place I've ever lived. Never had a reason to leave."
"Take my hand, don't want you falling on your butt again" I held my hands out right next to her. "You going to ask me a question?"
"Are you an axe murderer?" She asked, obeying and taking my hand.
I started walking slowly backwards and laughed. "Not unless I need to be" She stopped and her eyes snapped open. "I'm kidding, now keep your eyes closed." She slowly closed her eyes and let my lead her again. "Do you trust me?"
She thought for a second. "I guess so. Do you trust me?"
"Yes, I have a problem trusting people, but I completely trust you. Do you know how to swim? Keep your eyes closed until I tell you to open them" I stopped walking and turned around to look around. It was a lake with a small cabin I had built when I first got here so I had somewhere to live. There was a lot of trees and animals and it was beautiful in the middle of the day.
"Yes, I know how to swim. Do you find my brother obnoxious?"
"Well I shouldn't judge him since I've never talked to him...... but yeah." I turned back to face her and kept walking until I stepped into the water. "How much do you trust me?"
"Hmm, on a scale of one to ten, maybe an eight. Why are you asking so many trust questions?"
"This is why" I kept hold of her hands and ran into the water pulling her under water for a few seconds before pulling her back up. "You can open your eyes now."
"Oh my God its cold!" She yelled, gasping and opening her eyes. "Wow that was a rush."
I smiled at her still holding her hands. "How many boyfriends have you had?"
"Uh," she said. "Six. How many times have you moved?"
"Too many to count. Do you have a boyfriend now? Cause if you do he would probably get really jealous about this."
"No. This is one of my rare in-between times." She laughed. "Like I said: people seem to love me. Where's your family now?"
"Last I heard from them, my mom, dad, and sister are all living in a small town somewhere in California. Do you want to get out of the water and go in to dry off?"
