CHAPTER 4

  *RIYANSH'S POINT OF VIEW*

      Meera was kidnapped for almost 11 months by James Smith. He thought that she was his girlfriend and the fact to take in consideration is he is 10 years older than her. She was tortured brutally,was not allowed to leave the house and he would beat the shit out of her and harass her mentally. She even tried to suicide by slitting her wrist but she survived that attempt. When the cops found her, she was locked up in a cupboard and was in a miserable condition- bruised body, broken bones,burns on sensitive parts. When she was rescued ,she declined to speak to anyone for almost two weeks and when she finally spoke the words those came out of her mouth were, begging to kill her.

I gulped and turned the page to read further. There were pictures from the day she was found in the basement of Smith's house. The picture was hard to look at. Her body was covered in black and blue bruise, ankle broken , burns on sensitive parts of the body, few cuts on her back. I almost felt the need to puke but I managed to control my feelings. She was kidnapped by him for eleven months . During this span of eleven months ,she was harassed physically, sexually as well as mentally.

Now it's been three years since she was rescued. I started reading further. She was now not the same girl she once used to be , the carefree , full of life . She is now turned into arrogant badass, a bitch. She distant herself from her family and friends. She was an antisocial now and was actually bad with managing her temper.

She even tried to kill herself on her birthday after she was rescued. But hopefully she was rescued and hence survived. I scanned the papers for more information and found out that her next birthday was within 5 months so, I concluded I have to be more careful with her safety.

I found a cover in the file and it contained the DVD or the footage from her last college . I quickly played it on my laptop and started watching it. Everything was normal until she walked into the cafeteria with her baggy clothes on . Some boys in cafeteria started hitting on her and a guy grabbed her wrist.

She said "Let go of my hand."

But he chuckled at her" What if I don't do that baby doll?" 

She again warned him with gritted teeth" Don't you dare call me that again, if you do I'll brake your nose and kick your balls".

He raised his hands in surrender and spoke"Okay baby doll."

The next thing that happened was unexpected. She kneed him in stomach and slammed his head on the table. Everyone stared at her in shock and she ran out of the cafeteria.

I stared at the tape for few seconds and then burst out laughing and rolling all over my bed . She surely was a badass. I went through the rest of the file and noticed that she closed herself from people , didn't date or go to parties and she was getting depressed as the days were passing by. But she was too good at her fine and material art. All she did was sketching and drawing. Also to note since, past two years she's been taught self defense and kick boxing for her own safety.

I finally was about to close the file when a word "boyfriend" caught my eye. I started reading it and it was mentioned that I have to act as her boyfriend in college and the near surrounding in order to be close to her everytime and won't be the point of suspension for other people. After reading all that I was about to loose my cool side . Then I started reading further and found out my age was enrolled to be 22 yrs - the same as hers. Yeah, I look pretty young and I was scheduled to attend the same courses as hers.
