Chapter 3

Felix's P.O.V.
Once Jack accepted the date invite I looked at him with a weird look. You see Jack isn't as tough as he looks. Yeah he may be physically strong, but he has no self defense. That's one reason why he has never stood up to Mark or any other former bullies before, and he hates fighting. He is also easily fooled and accepts almost any guy that gives off the impression that they like him. I hate sending him off to dates for those exact same purposes. Worst part is, he hides it if he's in an abusive relationship. I had to find that out the hard way. Since his glow up, Jack has almost been used twice and I don't want to make this the third time. He hates it when I try to get involved, but it hurts me when I see him come home, crying and bruised because the man he thought loved him turned out to be a dick who wanted him for sex. After Jack always declines them, they try to force themselves onto him and he try's to get away. Luckily he's gotten away, but he might not be that lucky one day.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by the bell for the next period. When I'm about to go warn Jack, I see his face is all happy and lit up and my heart breaks. I can't do that to him. Let's just hope Ryan isn't like the others.

Mark's P.O.V.
He really just asked out Jack, and Jack accepted.
My blood was boiling by now and Wade was doing his best to try calming me down. I couldn't believe this. My chances are ruined!
Wait, no, don't think that. There's always a way I can still try to change Jack's mind. Even if I have to accomplish that by slowly trying to become better friends with him.
After the bell rings I get up and go to my last class of the day. Sadly I don't have this class with Jack, but it's a pretty short period and the teacher of this class doesn't really care what we do. As I walk down the hall I'm tapped in the shoulder by Jack's friend, Felix.
~End of the day back at home~
Jack's P.O.V.
After I get home I put my bag down and head up to my room. I'm home alone for almost the whole week since my parents are away for a business trip, so I just blast my music on my JBL (A Bluetooth speaker for those of you who didn't know) and do my homework for the rest of the classes. We didn't really have much assigned to us, so I decide to start the research for my project when I was rudely interrupted by a text notification.
I open my phone to and unknown number texting me.

Unknown: Hello 👋
Me: uhh whose this??
Unknown: take a guess :/
Me: No clue who you are so please stop texting me. Thank You.
Unknown: Fine wait! It's me Mark!

How did he get my number.
Changed contact to 'Trashcan'.

Me: how did u get my number?!
Trashcan: Felix gave it to me.
Me: why would he give u my number??

Mark's P.O.V.
~Earlier that day~
I feel a tap on my shoulder and see that it's Jack's friend, Felix.
"Hey Mark. I know you don't know me well but I saw that one of you pack members, Ryan, asked Jack out." He said.
"Yeah, what's it to you?" I responded, trying to act intimidating.
"Not that I don't trust him or anything, but Jack has been through a lot and I know he won't call me if he's uncomfortable at the date." Felix continues as he handed me a small piece of paper, "can you just text Jack so he has your number just incase."
~Back to Now~
Me: uhh well I asked him for it since we need to work on the project still.
Jack: I already told u the plan.
Me: But you didn't tell me the time or anything else sooo..
Jack: fine, but don't use my number for anything else
Me: deal

I look at the text for a few more minutes. So I have Jack's number now huh?? I guess that's one step in becoming close to him am I right?
