Chapter 21

I walked up to them and we greeted each other, all the girls were quiet as they watched us. It felt like that day in the lunchroom, I sighed it seems like this has to happen every day I shook my head.

“Why are you out here shouldn’t you be studying.” Alexis said somewhat coldly, what a great way to start off the day

I glared at him “well I think I should at least get to know my way around campus first, it’s not like you did a good job of being a tour guide.” I snapped

Aiolos looked between the two of us then sighed “I think he’s right, you’re still hurt you should stay inside and study.” Pavlos and Iason nodded their heads

I groaned “I should at least be able to know where I’m going when I’m better.” I looked to all of them

Iason nodded “we could show you”

“After you’re done studying and when we are available.”

“Fine.” I looked at all of them again “where’s Chris? Shouldn’t he be here too?”

“He’s not one of us he didn’t want to be.” Aiolos said simply

“Wait he got to choose?” I eyebrows rose

“Yes, it’s time for us to go we’ll see you later and see how you’re doing.” he waved and they were off

I started to walk about into the dorm when I was stopped by Ashley and Skylar “hmm?”

“You know them.” Skylar looked at me wide eyed

I nodded “yeah I’ve known them for a bit.”

“And Alexis I thought you said you didn’t know him.” Ashley said crossing her arms waiting for an explanation

I shrugged “I never said I didn’t know him, when you mentioned Alexis he sounded completely different from the one I’m used to. As you could see back they he doesn’t like me. One bit so when you said he was nice I crossed that Alexis off my list, he’s a different person when I’m around.” I opened the door “you guys should get going I’ll see you later?” they nodded and I walked inside grabbed a water bottle and walked upstairs into my room.

I sighed and closed the door then I stared at the huge books on my dresser then groaned as I walked over to them “why do I have to do all of this alone.” I sat in the chair and opened the book to the first chapter.

Seductive:  Not all friendly beings are to be trusted. Some beasts would lure their prey to their deaths with their stunning beauty, with precious jewels or through some other crafty method. Some would appear as an attractive woman or man using their beauty to capture their victims

One of these seductive creatures would be the Agas, the Agas is a seductive creature. Agas are devious Demons from Iranian mythology whose name is similar to evil-eye in the old Avestan language. Agas cause problems and difficulties by distorting the sight of others or creating visions to them. It tempts people into committing sin through visual means such as ghoulishness, sexually attractive sights and greediness. Agas presents visions of what people lust for the most and delights when she sees people falling for her traps. When they do she inflicts diseases of the eyes on those that could not resist temptation.

I don’t think I’d want to deal with one of these creatures…especially when I wouldn’t have control over my emotions, I read on to the next thing.

Agloaopheme

The Roman name for a Siren. These are birds that are unable to fly and they have the heads of women. They sing beautiful songs on beaches where there are bones of many sailors. They sing to lure men in order to devour them.  It is said that the Sirens were once virgins who refused to court with man or god and so they were punished to be these flightless birds by Aphrodite. It is also said that the goddess Demeter was angered by them for not helping her daughter and cursed them to find her. They are said to be flightless because they lost a singing competition against the muses who then plucked feathers from their wings to make crowns for themselves.
