"Urrggghh...."

A grumble escaped Taro's throat as he watched the scene in front of him.

After Mizuki took off from their position, he watched in horror as to how she bravely went after the demon who suddenly arrived out of nowhere.

If it was him, he would've already ran away to get himself in a safe place. But the girl did the exact opposite. For her fallen comrade, she chased after the perpetrator in an attempt to get revenge. It was a valiant thing. The only thing is, she wasn't strong enough to defeat Akaza. Even though the demon is missing some limbs, he was still able to get away from them. Not to mention, her injury hindered her from going all out.

What if he didn't stabbed her? Will things turn out for the better?

No one knows. He didn't know either.

Now that the demon is gone, it was okay for them to move freely and so he did. He even spotted the sick boy helping that little girl paired up with Kyojuro during their operations. Taro roamed his eyes around. The train-turned-demon is derailed. Those people they tried to incapacitate did everything they can to make sure that everyone is alive. How dare they think that they can do something like that to those strong people? If they're going head to head, it will be very obvious that they wouldn't stand a chance.

His gaze then settled at the crying Mizuki and her friends. The three boys are surrounding her and Kyojuro.

These people fought for the safety of everyone. Yet, their sacrifices were always deemed unnoticed. Taro isn't dumb. Of course, before associating himself with the demons, he gathered information for himself. People are selfish and only think of themselves. In the end, he chose to deceive himself and have a good dream. He cannot accept what happened in his life. But these people are different. They move forwards despite losing something very important.

They must've lost a lot of important things already. And here they are, still fighting. He knew that he couldn't be like them.

He called Mizuki a 'monster' multiple times. But seeing her crying right now, she didn't look too different from a normal girl. She didn't look too different from them.

"Move! Move!!!"

A loud yell was heard, taking his attention.

People wearing dark clothes similar to the demon hunters arrived. The only difference is that they're wearing something to hide their faces. They must've some relationship with the demon hunters. The group moved swiftly and efficiently, taking care of the injured ones and giving them the necessary treatment they needed.

"Do you want to save him?"

The smooth velvety voice rang from Mizuki's direction.

Taro was astonished to see an unknown girl who isn't previously standing there. She stood elegantly in front of Mizuki and the group. Contrast to the ice breath user's dark hair, this new girl had white silky tresses flowing down her back. The green eyes settled on her face reminded him of an emerald gem, reflecting the rays of the sun that had already risen.
