Unexpected

“You will mix yourself in with the students of Helios. Stay in the background. Your mission with Celestial is to protect the students as much as you can. I haven’t said anything to the Towers’ Magicians, but something seems off.

I stood next to my sister, Celestial. We hid behind the students of Helios as everyone entered the Tower. Chasmal was right – something seemed off. There was a dark presence somewhere, but I couldn’t make a scene. Not yet. Our identity had to be hidden.

My eyes flickered over to a professor with long, blue hair. She was chasing a boy with blonde hair and wearing a green jacket. Under her arm, she held a young little girl. I recognized her – she was Yuti, the Empire’s Princess.

Celestial grabbed my arm and pulled me over to the teleportation circle. “Look at it,” she whispered. “It doesn’t look right… Something’s weird about it.”

I scanned the teleportation circle. She was right. But what could have been wrong? I wasn’t sure, but I felt magic. Dark magic, one of which that shouldn’t have even been in the tower in the first place. So why, why was it lurking?

Looking to my right, I saw a boy with golden hair speaking with the blonde haired boy about the teleportation circle. After a few moments, the blue haired professor appeared. She glared at the blonde haired boy as he hid behind the golden haired one.

“Professor Rowell, you’re still chasing this feeble child?” The golden haired boy sent a displeased look to “Professor Rowell.”

The blonde haired boy then observed the teleportation circle intently. Had he noticed as well? He raised his head and noticed me staring at him.

            Crap.

I instantly turned my head away and pulled Celestial along with me, away from him. For a second, it seemed like he was about to speak, but he didn’t. At that same moment, all the magicians in the room felt a tug from the large magic stone. It was the dark presence I’d felt earlier, but not much malicious intent.

I glanced at the blonde haired boy. His expression tightened. Whatever the matter, a black magic body appeared in front of everyone. Black water oozed out of the teleportation circle and black tornadoes swirled around all the students of Helios.

The Hereis, who were better than Iduns, stared at a professor with brown hair. The professor whirled around to face them. She shouted, “I think… Something’s gone wrong! Please escape with the rest of the students!” Her face was full of panic.

However, the black thing seemed to disagree. It had no face, so I couldn’t tell if its expression was grim or not. Aside from that, it blocked the entrance which was also the exit. The black clouds were about to attack the students trying to flee when the brown haired professor stood in front of them, using magic.

“Professor Khan!” the students shouted in unison.

“Professor Khan,” if I heard right, began to speak. “I don’t know who you are, but you must be crazy. To even think of doing such a thing in this place, Helios… My name is [Damian], [Awaken]!” Her hair turned white and magic flowed within her. “I don’t know what your goal is, but, you better be prepared to face the consequences!”

I turned my head to face Professor Rowell. She beckoned Yuti to leave with the golden haired boy. When he wasn’t sure how to escape, Professor Rowell glanced at the blonde haired boy.
