Encountering Little Blue

The blade was pressed against Shicmuon’s throat.

“It’s annoying…,” he muttered, glaring. “Move it away. Wanna die?”

“No,” Professor Rowell replied. “You die.”

“…Rood Chrishi.” She made a small nod at him and turned to look at me. “…You,” she then said, staring straight at me. “What did you do; what was that.” It sounded more as a statement rather than a question.

            “Um…,” I began.

Celestial nudged me and chuckled. “It was—”

Professor Rowell’s attention slipped away from us when she looked behind us. I glanced at Shicmuon who had a shocked face on. I turned around to see that Shicmuon was holding Rood’s jacket. We all saw that Rood was running away. Both Shicmuon and Professor Rowell chased after him.

Celestial pulled me towards her. “Let’s slip away for now,” she whispered. “We should go find the culprits for this situation.”

“Where’re all of the students?” I asked.

“Well, it appears that the professors can’t use their magic. However, I saw that the students of Helios, the Hereis, could. It’s mainly the professors that can’t use magic. Supposedly, we both can, but it’s difficult. You haven’t awakened yet but for me… I’m struggling to maintain my magic. Everyone’s in the auditorium, I think, as of now. The professors gathered everyone there.”

“Okay, let’s go.” I glanced back at Rood to check what was going on.

My eyes widened when I saw the man who spoke of a traitor. Dio’s small form was falling and hit Rood. Rood flew backward and Dio crashed into the ground. Ouch… I wasn’t going to stay to see what was going on.

Just as Celestial grabbed me to teleport through a dimension door, I felt the ground shake. I hastily looked back and saw that a teleportation besides Celestial’s was happening. But before I could see anything else, Celestial and I were teleported just outside the doors of the auditorium.

We both peered in through one of the windows. Professor Orphell was speaking to the students. He spoke for a while until Iel, I believe that was her name, interrupted and spoke aloud. As Professor Orphell was about to interject, the building rumbled.

Something or someone fell from the ceiling, creating a hole. Looking closely, I could see that it was two people. There was dust for a while but it then faded.

My eyes widened extremely wide when I saw who they were. It was Dio in his human form… and Rood, in his awakened form. The Black Magician of Opinion. But, how did Dio return to his human form? I could have sworn that Rood couldn’t awaken… so how could he have now?

            How nice.

Rood, the Black Magician, then spoke. He raised his hand, perhaps greeting everyone. As he did, the purple haired Hereis began to run forward.

“Black Magician!” I could’ve sworn the kid cry. However, Professor Orphell pulled him back before he could hug the Black Magician.

“Black Magician?” everyone murmured. There were whispers and mutters.

“Professor?” The purple haired Hereis wailed.

Professor Orphell then spoke. The words he said were in doubt and disbelief. He was cautious – he didn’t believe that that was the real Black Magician. Of course he didn’t, considering the situation everyone was in.

Professor Khan tried to speak up to prove that it really was the Black Magician, but Professor Orphell ignored that. He continued to speak, still full of doubt and disbelief. I didn’t blame him. After all, Professor Orphell was one of the Tower’s magicians.

“That’s…” The Black Magician looked lost at words. I guess Rood didn’t think things through. How did he brash through the ceiling, anyhow? He and I needed to have a conversation later…

“Also…” Professor Orphell narrowed his eyes. “None of the magicians inside Helios… are able to use their magic right now.”

All of the students were in an uproar. They gasped in shock and the murmurs increased, louder this time. The Hereis spoke with each other with wide eyes.

I cleared my throat and turned to Celestial. “What should we do?” I asked.

“Let’s break all of their legs.”

“No!” I exclaimed with a shocked expression. “For one, Chasmal would kill us, and two, what would that even do? But that’s nice, how you came up with such a bizarre idea.” I scratched the back of my neck, thinking. “Should we intervene? Interrupt and act like we’re not doing anything?”

“I’m in my awakened form, remember? They can’t see me now. Not yet. And thus, you know me, I’m not willing to go in there in this current situation. You go.”

“Okay, okay,” I said. “But what do I say? What do I do?” Although I should have been the one coming up with ideas and plans, my brain refused to compute. I couldn’t think of anything, could barely do anything. The situation was completely dire.

“You could lure one of the demons in there... Or I could throw you."

“Hah? Wait, what—” Before I could say anything, Celestial used her whip which coiled around my ankle. She raised her whip, flinging me into the air. Then, she flung, and I crashed through the wall and window. I also crashed into the Black Magician, Dio, Professor Orphell, and the purple haired Hereis.

I groaned as I sat up. Damn it, Celestial… Ugh… I was lying on top of the Black Magician as I sat up. I coughed as I sat up and brushed the dirt off of me. I pulled my hoodie down low and cleared my throat nervously.

“You,” Professor Orphell said, standing up and glaring at me.

“Um…” I could see Celestial hiding outside from the corner of my eye.

“Who is that?” one of the professors said. “One of the new students? How troublesome. How on earth did she crash through? Was it a demon?”

“Yes,” I spoke up, swallowing hard. “The demon grabbed me and threw me here…” My voice trailed off as I was at a loss for words. Just keep lying, my brain told me. Like I could do that. I couldn’t produce lies that quickly and thoroughly.

The Black Magician sat up behind me. “What…” His voice trailed off as well and I could feel his faze on me. I knew he was befuddled and curious to know what happened.

            Well isn’t this interesting…?
