Helping Hand

“We should do something.” Celestial’s eyes glowed. “We could—”

“If you awaken,” I told her, “promise me you’ll hide your magic so that when you use it, they cannot feel its sensation and flow. Also, if you do that, they can’t trace your magic back to you. And if you do awaken… you’ll need to cover yourself with a robe.” I looked around. “Let’s hide in the trees.”

“Got it,” Celestial said. We dashed into the small forest of trees. Her eyes flashed pink. “My name is [Elisa], [Awaken]!” Her pink magic wrapped around her and her clothing changed. Her whip was in her hands and she smiled. “Let’s have some fun.”

“Wait!” I said. “You have to wear some type of cover up, remember?” I took off my hoodie and handed it to her. She put it on and the color changed from blue to pink. “Do as I told you.”

“Right.” Celestial opened up a dimension door and walked through it. The dimension door opened meters away from the black thing, and she stepped out of it.

I should wear a cover up as well. I need to assist her.

I found a bag with a robe in it. I placed it around me and grabbed the teleportation scroll hat was inside. Chanting the incantation, I teleported beside Celestial. The school uniform, my face, and my hair were hidden. I appeared taller than usual, so they couldn’t trace my height. After all, the professors were bound to arrive.

            “…Who are you?” it asked.

I looked behind me and saw Dio. His eyes were like that of a snake’s… the one similar to the dragons… Oh shit… Don’t tell me…

“Look out!” Celestial shouted. She raised her whip and caught the arm of the black thing, which was raised at me. She managed to hold it in place using her fire.

The black thing attacked once more, using more than one arm. It cracked the top of the building, and dust flew. I coughed once and looked back to see a red robed stranger. He was holding Dio in his arms.

The black thing grabbed Dio’s ankle and pulled him from the stranger’s grasp. Dio held his eye and said something like, “I can’t, anymore…” His eyes glowed and became eyes like those that belonged to the blue dragon. “Tolerate it anymore.” Blue light swarmed around Dio and glowed brighter.

Crap… Was Dio going to transform?

The blue light disappeared and there, in the air, was a small, blue dragon. Everyone was surprised, and I could tell that the black thing was, too. The red robed stranger grabbed Dio, the dragon, and hid it in the robe. The stranger landed on the ground.

Celestial muttered something under her breath and sent attacks of fire at the black thing. It dodged and aimed at her, and she easily caught its arms. It didn’t resist. Rather, it gave in, and caught her off guard. The black thing used its remaining arm to attack her waist.

As fast as I could, I bent down and held up my arm. Its black arm collided with my arm, but I remained still, as though I’d felt nothing. I glared at it with dark, cold eyes. It only stared back at me in return.

Celestial’s fire blazed on the building. Professors then jumped onto it and took out the fire. Celestial and I looked back, uneasy. Crap.
