FLASHBACK
I can't believe what I am doing. This must be a dream. I cannot wrap my mind around the fact that i was making out with Harry. My bestfriend. And to make matters worse, I was thouroghly enjoying this. UGH.
I needed to end this before we got too carried away, so I pushed Harry forward without removing my lips from his, and flipped the lights on. We both jumped back, aghast at what we had been doing. I looked him in the eyes and shuddered. Was I trying to ruin my life? I should have just said no. That would have been the right thing to do. But he tasted so.. good.
I scanned Harry's face and he was flustered. He grined at me and shook his curls. Was he actually, can I even say this? Turned on? By me?? No way in hell was that even possible. Best friends. I thought to myself. Just best friends. But I had a growing suspicion that everything would change after this, this monstrosity.
Harry and I were still staring at eachother in shock, though for him it seemed like he was more in awe.
"I didnt know..." Harry stated.
"You didn't know what?" I raised my eyebrows.
Somebody pounded on the door. "Hey guys, y'all have been in there for a while now! Sure all you did was kiss?"
Someone bust out laughing behind the door and others hushed them.
I repeated my question. "You didn't know what?"
Harry walked towards the door and brushed past me and whispered,"That you were such an amazing kisser."
My feet stayed planted on the ground and I stared at him in shock as he walked away. He thought I was a good kisser? Well, if anyone was a good kisser it was h- Wait. I shoud not be saying this. What was wrong with me??
"Uh, Maddie?" My other bestfriend, Emma, was speaking to me. Emma was short and sweet. She has long, curly blond hair and a petite figure. She was really shy around people and it was a big deal for her to be at this party.
"Mhm?" I met her eyes.
"You wanna.. talk?"
"Umm, no. I think I am okay. Great actually. Peachy!.. Lets just go back to the party!"
"Maddie, the party is over. It's already midnight. You guys were in there for almost an hour.."
AN HOUR? Oh gosh.
"Oh, then I should go find Harry! He is my ride home!"
I started to run off but stopped myself.
"And Em? Text me later. We need to talk."

Harry was driving home and I was trying to find a good radio station. I settled for some old music as a joke when me and Harry's song came on, Brown Eyed Girl.
We locked eyes and started to sing. I began our old hand motions. It really just went:
clap, clap. pat, pat, snap, snap. pat, pat.
And we put it to the rythym.
"Hey where did we go? Days when the rain came. Down in the hollow, playing a new game. Laughing and a runnin, hey hey! Skippin and a jumpin. In the misty morning fog, well, ah my hearts a thumpin and you, my brown eyed girl. Ohh, you my brown eyed girl!"
Harry and I were belting the song out, both laughing hysterically, remebering how young and foolish we were. I can't believe I almost jeoperdized our friendship for a stupid game. But, it looks like everything would be okay and we would go back to normal.
"Whatever happened to tuesday and so slow. Going through the old mine, witha transista radio. Standing in the sunlight laughing..."
We pulled up to my house and turned the music down a little so that we did not wake up my family.
"And your, my brown eyed girl!" The song finished and I turned the radio off.
"Thanks for the ride, Haz."
"Anytime, Mads. See you tomorrow."
I slid out of the car but Harry grabbed my wrist. "Mads?"
"Yeah?" I whispered.
"I honestly do not regret that."
I smiled. "I do."
Harry slapped my wrist lightly and I said, "Okay, just kidding. I don'y regret it either!"
"Good." Then, he leaned forward and kissed me lightly on the lips and pushed me back with a grin on his face. I slammed the door shut and he sped off.
Our friendship was not back to normal.
