I burst through Harry's front door yelling out,

"Honeys, I'm home!"

I jog into the front room to find Gemma sitting on the brown, leather couch watching The X Factor.

"Hey Maddie!" She says, barely turning turning away from the TV where some girl is currently running off stage crying because of her four No's.

"Heyyy Gem." I run over to give her a hug. Gemma is like the sister I've always wanted. Being an only child, I never had any siblings to hang out with, or make fun of. So Gemma is like that for me.

"Is that you Maddie?"

Harry's mom strolls through the door, leaving the kitchen. She wipes her hands on her apron, no doubt cooking something fabulous for dinner tonight.

"How have you been, darling?"

"I'm good, I guess. What about you, Momma Anne?

I've known Harry since we were practically born, meaning Harry's mom is just a second mom to me. I'm at his house just as much as I am at my own.

Just then, Harry strolls through the door casually.

"Hey Gem, Hey mom." He gives them a kiss then comes over to me and slides his arm around my shoulders.

"Maddie and I have to tell you guys something."

I look up to Harry with a confused look in my eyes. I try to send him telepathic messages like when we were younger, but it clearly isn't working.

"Maddie and I are dating."

Harry's mom's mouth drops to the floor and Gemma jerks her head around to gape at us.

I stare at Harry, more confused than ever.

"Anyways, we have to go upstairs and do homework-" Harry starts to say but his mom cuts in.

"It's summer break, honey."

"Well, we can't get behind can we?"

Then he grabs my hand and pulls me up the stairs.

I bust into his room and flop down on the blue, plain bed.

"What was that, Haz?"

"What was what?"

I shake my head at him, annoyed.

"Why did you tell your mom and sister that we were dating?"

"Cause we are. Sort of."

I groan and shove my face into the pillow.

"They're gonna hate me." I mumble through the pillow.

"Hey," Harry says and comes over to sit next me. He starts to rub my back, which sends chills down my spine.

"Hey, listen. There is nobody that they would rather me date than you. Okay? You are already family, an nothing can change that."

Harry continues to rub my back and I begin to relax.

"Ohh-kayy." I say.

"Now, I need to talk to you."

"What, haz?"

"We need to practice being a couple. We're not very good at it."

My heart stopped.

"Um, practice how?"

"Like, hugging... Holding hands... Cuddling..... Maybe even kissing?"

That last part sounded more like a question than a statement.

My heart screamed yes, but my brain yelled no. Eventually, my heart won.

"Okay." I responded in a small voice.

"I know how to start." Harry told me.

"How's that?" I mumble?

Then Harry leans forward and pushes me on my back, so he's on top of me. His lips touch mine and we are kissing just like last night.
