"You try, I'm done with this."

I looked at the clock and I realized that it was already five p.m. That meant that my shift was over for today. I went to the front desk to clock out when I ran into Carol. She didn't look very happy.

'Urg!' I heard her groan as I walked up to her. 'What's wrong?' I asked. 'This stupid computer isn't working.' She replied and she kicked the table.

'Is everything okay?' I heard someone ask and I saw doctor Ross putting away his form to help Carol.

'You try, I'm done with this.' Carol said annoyed to Ross and she stormed off. What was that all about? I quickly follow her into the lounge room.

'Are you okay?' I asked. 'I'm fine, bad day.' She said as she poured herself a cup of coffee. 'What if we go across the street for dinner? To make you feel a bit better?' I asked.

'Good idea. I could use some time off.' She said and I smiled. 'I need to do one thing and then will go.' She said and she told me to meet her in ten minutes.

As I opened my locker to grab my coat, I heard the door open to see John walking in. He was carrying a lot of paper work.

'Hey need some help with those?' I said to him. 'No, I'm fine.' he said as he almost tripped over his own feet.

'How was your first day?' he asked as he quickly put the big folders on the table.

'It was great. Scary but nice.' I smiled.

'It will be less scary soon.' He said and and he walked up to his locker and opened it. 'You did great today by the way.' he continued and I looked down a my shoes. 'Thanks.' I told him and I put my hair behind my ear.

'What are you going to do tonight?' I asked. 'Paper work.' He mumbled and looked at the pile of files on the table.

'All of it?' I asked. 'Yep, need to hand it in tomorrow.' He said. 'I would offer to help but I'm going to have dinner with Carol. See you tomorrow?' I asked.

'See you tomorrow.' He repeated. 'Good luck.' I told him and I walked out the door.
