"I'm getting Mark"

It was a few days after the party and it was chaos in the ER. It kind of reminded me of my first day but now I had to do a lot more myself. I walked up to the front desk to put my chards in the folder. 'Three trauma's coming in two minutes.' Malik said to Mark. 'Okay Lydia, Carol and Malik you prep trauma 1 and 2. Carter and Brooke you come with me.' Mark said and we ran outside to wait for the ambulance.

Two ambulances rushed into the drive way. 'Carter you take charge and I'll jump in if you need me. Brooke you stay with Carter.' He said as two ambulances drove towards us. 'We'll take the last one.' John said and he gestured to me to walk with him.

The ambulance doors opened with and woman inside. 'Woman, thirty-five years old was found rescued from an collapsed building.' The young paramedic said as we stormed inside. 'Her blood pressure is 60 over 90 and her heart rate's 55. She has shortness of breath, vomited and has been in and out of consciousness.' He continued as we went into trauma two.

We put the stretcher next to the bed. 'On my count.' John said and we all grabbed different sides of the blanket. '1..2..3.' He said and we lifted the woman on the stretcher. I grabbed my light to check her eyes. 'Pupils are dilated.' I said and I checked her reflexes by testing her hand strength and reaction in the feet. 'Heart is still 55.' Carol said. 'I want an ultrasound, x-ray of her chest and abdomen and an urine test and...uh, CT-scan and...' He said, I saw he was stressed. 'And EKG.' He told us while Malik put in an IV.

'Are you sure we need an EKG, her heart seems fine, just a little low.'I said. 'Just to make sure.' He said but I didn't have a good feeling about this. We quickly made an x-ray and when we walked back I saw the woman started waking up.

'Hi, I'm Valerie Brooke. You're in the hospital. Do you know your name?' I asked trying to determine if she didn't have an concussion. 'What?' She mumbled as John started the ultra sound. 'Your name?' I said. 'I don't.. I don't know.' She said and she passed out again.

'I think she might have an concussion.' I said to John as he was watching the photos of her x-ray.

'Okay, there's internal bleeding in her abdomen.' He said and he put his hands on his head. That wasn't a good sign but we can still save her. If John keeps it together.

'Do you want me to get Mark?' I asked. 'No, I can do it.' He said quickly and Lydia walked in with the CT-scan.

'She has an collapsed lung, the EKG came back fine, urine was positive.' Lydia said and I saw that John couldn't handle this.

'Okay let's get rid of that pressure and call surgery.' He said.

'She's going into shock.' Carol said not an second later. Oh god, this keeps getting worse.

'Two bags of O-neg, now!' He yelled. I needed to do something.

'I'm getting Mark.' I told him and quickly walked into trauma one. It was pretty quiet there and the man seemed stable.

'We need you, now!' I said seriously and I saw Mark coming after me.

'What happened?' he said and Benton came rushing in too. 'She's in shock, has an collapsed lung and internal bleeding and an concussion.' John said while still trying to save her. 'God.' Mark mumbled.

'Let's get her to surgery!' Benton yelled. 'I'll speak with you later.' Benton continued as we all rushed out of trauma 2, except John.

The woman was in surgery for a couple of hours now. I wanted to scrub in to watch but Benton said that I couldn't do that yet. I guess he was in a bad mood. I had just treated another patient and I walked up to the front desk to hand in my chart. It was still super busy and I hadn't had any time to ask how it was going with John.
