⋆Part 14: Changes⋆

"I promise"

'Did you fall like this or like this.' I said as I stretched my arm out and back.

'There's a trauma coming in.' Benton said to me when he walked by.

'Like this.' The woman said while she stretched out her arm.

'I'll be there!' I yelled to Benton because he was so far away already. That man is always running around.

'Okay, thank you. Then it's probably her arm and not her wrist.' I said to Yosh. 'Let's get an X-ray just to be sure it's not broken.' I continued and he nodded. 'Do you want something for the pain?' I asked but she shook her head. I heard the trauma coming in and I quickly looked to see how bad it was. 

'I'm fine.' She told us. 'Great- well uh..' I said distracted.

Did I see that right?

'Excuse me.' I said to the girl glancing back and forward to her and the trauma. This can't be, he was coming over tonight. I quickly ran to trauma one and walked through the door. Chaos was everywhere, I saw how they shocked the injured boy on the gurney and luckily got a rhythm. I walked a bit closer and saw the thing I did not want to see.

Ollie.

My little brother was pale and unconscious on the gurney. 'Valerie! Come and help he's dying.' Benton yelled. His hands were covered with blood and Ollie's chest was cracked open. My eyes filled with tears.

'Are you okay?' I heard Susan ask.

'That's my brother.' I whispered as tears streamed down my cheeks.

'What?' Benton yelled shocked.  'He's going into fib.' Carol said, that wasn't a good sign. 'Your brother?' I heard John repeat.

'What happened?' I asked as I grabbed my gloves, my hands were shaking.

'He going into shock.' Benton said as they shocked him again.

'It's not a good idea for you to be here.' Susan practically yelled. 'I don't care.' I snapped as I walked up to them to help. 'Carol?' I heard Susan say as Carol came my way.

'Let me help him.'

'Come on, Val.' Carol said. 'Carol please...' I sobbed. I didn't want to leave him alone. 'Come on.' She whispered as she slightly pushed me out of the room.

'No, I have to help him.' I cried. 'John?' I asked trying to get his attention before I left te room. I knew he would be on my side but I can't ask that from him, Susan would be mad. But he could make sure he was going to be okay. 'Please save him?' I asked and he nodded. I knew he could do it.

'I promise.' He said as I went out of the room.

'You can't promise that!' I heard Susan yell. I stood there behind the swinging doors with the big windows. Tears ran down my cheeks as I stared at the chaos in the trauma room.

It was about fifteen minutes later. I sat in lounge waiting for someone to tell me what happened. I heard the doors swing open to see Carol coming in. I quickly stood up and walked up to her.

'Is anyone going to tell me what hell is going on?' I asked still panicking.

'He was in a car-accident.' She said and my eyes grew wide waiting for what to come next. 'He went into hypovolemic shock because of all the blood loss. His organs started to fail but they did a transfusion, which helped. But he's still in surgery stopping the internal bleeding and his leg...' She continued and I sighed. 'His leg was broken in multiple places there was also a big cut right at his hip. Their trying to save it. John went upstairs with them to make sure he was okay.' She continued again and tears sprung back into my eyes.
