Best friends

"I have to tell her how I feel!" 

"Fuck how you feel! Look this is your friendship you're talking about. If you tell her how you feel and she doesn't feel the same way, then you gonna fuck everything up" Ethan told me 

"Bro I can't keep pushing my feelings away, I love her man and I need to tell her that"

"No Gray. You're best friends and yes there's a possibility that she'll like you back but there's also a chance where she won't and I want you to be prepared for that and not get you hopes up. She might just think of you as her best friend who she can tell everything to and not feel anything romantic towards you" he sighed and sat down next to me on my bed "I hate to be the one to say it bro but you gotta let her go and like someone else"

I pulled my head out of my hands and glared at him "I can't just like someone else Ethan. God you're so useless!" I stood up "fuck you! I'm out of here" I grabbed my trainers and left my room 

"Where are you going!" I heard him yell as I was half way down the stairs 

I didn't respond, I just pushed my feet inside my shoes and slammed the front door

Y/n's p.o.v

My phone buzzed.

Fatty: hey I kinda did something stupid and my cars fucked up can you pick me up? 

Y/n: wtf Grayson 

Y/n: where are you?

Fatty: marigold road by the diner 

Y/n: omw 

I shut my phone off and pushed it in my back pocket. I quickly threw on a hoodie, grabbed my keys and ran down the stairs. I opened my front door and closed it behind me. I turned my car on and pulled out of my driveway. I drove down my street and headed to Grayson's location. 

I had been driving for around 5 minutes and I was now on marigold road. I was scanning the area  trying to find him. The diner came into view and shortly after I spotted Grayson, sitting on the side of the road. I pulled up next to him and he got inside my car. 

I stared at him, he sighed 

"I'm sorry" 

"About what? Scaring me to death" I threw the car in drive and started to drive home 

"It was an accident" he mumbled 

"What was?" I snapped "what did you do?"

He sighed "look I got into an argument with Ethan and I decided to just drive around to cool off and I ended up driving into a tree"

"You drove into a tree because you had an argument with your brother?"

"I know it was stupid y/- 

"No it wasn't stupid Grayson it was fucking ridiculous! How deluded are you!" 

He stayed silent 

"Because of a petty fight with Ethan you thought it would be a great idea to put your life at risk and make ridiculous decisions. I can't believe you" 

We drove home in silence

She doesn't understand. I was angry at her. At the fact that she would never love me the same way I love her. The only reason I was reckless driving was because I knew Ethan was right. He was right about y/n. 

She's my best friend and that's final. 

She will never know how I feel towards her and why I put my life in so much danger.
