Favourite secret

I slowly packed my bags, sniffling and sobbing. I picked up his hoodie, I pulled it towards my face and sniffed it gently, I hugged the cologne scented hoodie and started to cry harder. I folded it and placed it into my suitcase. I removed my promise ring and lifted it towards my lips, I planted a kiss on the infinity sign and rested it on his bedside table. I zipped up the case and pulled the handle bar up, I gripped it tightly and left the room. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed my keys, I heard the front door open and close.

"Baby! I got th- hey what's wrong?" He approached me 

I bit my lip and shook my head as he came towards me, I backed up

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" His voice was sincere but it was followed by concern 

I walked over to him and cupped his face, I stared at his facial features and physique. 

"God, I'm gonna miss you" I cried even harder 

"Baby, What? I'm not going anywhere" he pulled me into a hug, I hugged him back tightly, savouring the moment. I pulled away 

"You're making this too hard" I looked away from him 

"What do you mean?"

I ignored him and walked away

"Baby stop" he said worried 

"Please Grayson" I whispered 

"Y/n you're scaring me, what's wrong?"

"They know" I whispered again 

"What?"

"Grayson they know" I said slightly louder 

"Know what?"

"Us, they know about us"

"Who knows?"

"My whole family" I responded quickly "and they all what nothing to do with me"

Guilt washed over Grayson 

"Y/n I'm so so-

"Don't apologise, a sorry means nothing to me right now"

His eyes softened 

I folded my arms and avoided eye contact with him "I'm going away for awhile and I'm not coming back" 

"W-What? How long?" His voice broke

"Forever" 

"No" he shook his head "you can't go"

"I've got a cab coming 5 minutes and it's taking me to the airport"

"What do you mean? No you can't" tears began to prick his eyes 

"I can" I looked at him "I have to"

"No you don't" 

"Grayson my family thinks I'm a disgrace, they don't wanna see me anymore. I'm going to be living with Emma in Michigan and I'm not coming back"

"No we can get through this. We're a couple, we do everything together" he spoke quickly 

"Grayson the secrets out"

"I can't loose you" he whispered 

"It's for the best"

"No it's not" he corrected me "I love you"

I stared at him

"Say it back" His voice completely broken

"It just makes things harder Grayson" 

I pulled my suitcase towards the front door, I opened it 

"Baby please" he grabbed my arm 

"It's been one heck of a journey, 6 months" I smiled "but every journey has an ending" I cupped his cheek "ours ends here" 

He was about to speak, I stopped him 

"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, never forget that" I pulled my hand away

"You'll always be my favourite secret"

I turned around and closed the front door, I never opened that door again. 

I love knowing a secret about someone who doesn't know that you know that secret about them
