My grip on the man's neck tightened and he weakly attempted to remove my hands. He hissed at me and threshed beneath me. I licked my lips as the life slipped out of his body. Killing the man satisfied the hunger that growled in the pit of my stomach.

When I was sure the man had died, I got up slowly and eyed the man who had now stumbled out of the bush hungrily.

The man's face was flushed and his veins was throbbing in his neck. I ran towards him, gripped his body and smashed it into a tree. I began beating his face, each hit at his sneering face gave me immense satisfaction. The man then held me by my throat, his long nails dug painfully in my skin as he threw me to the floor and he leaned over, his sharp teeth brazing my neck.

The man then looked me in the eye and opened his mouth and I caught sight of long, sharp incisors. I struggled under the weight of his body and the man laughed wickedly.

"Stop struggling, Theiro." He sneered. "You're weak, just like the rest of them and I will kill you, no matter what the prophecies say."

He licked his lips, his tongue running over the tip of his sharp incisor.

"What...what are you?" I muttered as I stared at him in awe.

The man's jet black eyes bore into my soul. "I am Artem. You should be glad you are about to die at the hands of the most powerful vampire."

Artem drew his head back and laughed cynically before his razor-sharp teeth tore through the skin on my neck. My eyes widened in pain as he sucked the blood out of me.

I gritted my teeth and screwed my eyes shut. All I could feel was pain. The pain consumed my whole body and I screamed out in agony. I pressed my fingers to Artem's forehead and released all the pain that had built up within me.

Artem's body went limp and he withdrew his teeth from the opening in my neck and I winced in pain. I could now feel the energy and strength that began pulsing in my veins. But it didn't belong to me, it was different. It belonged to Artem.

Artem's power continued to fill me until he was left with none and he laid motionless and drained.

I stood up from the floor and swayed. The power that ran through my blood was too much for me to control and I felt dizzy.

I stumbled over to Moon and she gazed wearily back at me, her large black eyes filled with fear. She was huddled on the floor, too weak to get up. I rubbed her silky white fur. "Moon we need to go," I whispered and she beckoned to her leg. I looked at it, my brows furrowed. Moon's hind leg looked broken and she couldn't walk because of it.

There was a growl from behind me and I turned towards Eden. I gasped and ran over to him.

Blood was flowing out of the gash in his neck as he gripped it painfully and he was barely conscious.

I removed his hands frantically and examined the wound. There were deep cuts where the man had sunk his teeth through Eden's neck and I tried to stop the blood by trying to put pressure onto it, but Eden let out a painful scream as soon as I touched it.

"What...what do I do?" I asked nervously.

Eden tried to open his eyes, but he was too weak. He moved his lips, but no words came out.

"Eden!" I yelled at him and shook his shoulders.

Eden didn't respond and his body stiffened beneath me. Adrenaline flooded my system, pumping and beating against my skin, trying to escape. I thought my heart would explode and my eyes were wide with fear. My body either wanted to run fast for the safety of the cabin and pretend like none of that had happened or to the city to get help for Eden, but instead, I remained where I was. My adrenaline surged so fast, I almost vomited, I could taste the saliva thickening in my throat and the beads of sweat that trickled down my brow.
