I awake in my bed, the room is almost completely dark.
I shift my body weight in my bed and notice I am in different clothes. My nightgown? When did I change? I glance at the bed next to me and notice it is empty.
"Adalie....." I whisper. No answer. I sit up in my bed, it must be late at night. The lights in my room are off, a beam of light escapes the hallway and finds refuge in my room. I stand, navigating my room with the little light I have. I make my way to Adalie's bed, finding it completely bare. No sheets, blankets, or pillows.
I make my way to the door, careful not to make any noise. When I reach the door I notice a sticky note on the wall. I peel it off and bring it to the light. It reads:
Do not take your meds - D
I don't recognize the hand writing. Who wouldn't want me to take my meds?
I make my way into the dimly lit hallway. They check our rooms every 15 minutes, so I've got to hurry. The med counter is vacant, same with the receptionist desk and all of the doors. There is no one to be seen.
I make my way down the long hallway. My footsteps are muffled by my bare feet but still audible. I hear something. Voices, they are coming from the security room. A highly classified room that no one is allowed to enter without an authorization hand print. I walk towards the room. I can't make out anything the guy is saying, it sounds like he is talking to someone, but there are no other voices.
He walks towards the door. Frantic, I hide behind around the corner. Only to find another long hallway. I hear the door open. He begins to walk the other direction. I peek around the corner and notice he has some sort of device around the top of his head. He keeps talking. I bring my attention to the door he just left from and realize it is still closing. Quickly, I run around and enter the room.
The door closes with me inside.
I scan the room, there are dozens of screens showing the different parts of the hospital. I see a man walking down the hallway, that is the man that just left! He is walking towards the receptionist desk. I look at the other screens, the one pointed at the receptionist desk says:
Camera 32 - Receptionist Desk
They all have different numbers, the numbers range from 12 to 34. Where are the other cameras? Cameras 1 through 12 are missing. Below the screens is a keypad with different numbers on it. I click number 32 and all of the screens show the receptionist desk.
I click number 1. It shows the double doors I saw earlier, this camera is named:
Camera 1 - Laboratory Entrance
I press number 2.
Thoughts from the author:
Hello! I'm keeping my promise on posting every day. (Though it might be broken in the future)
What do you think she is going to find it the Laboratory?
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, what are you thankful for? Are you going black Friday shopping?
Thank you so much for reading, it means a ton. Much love - Samantha
