He found me.
D found me!
I begin to remove my shirt. Goose bumps cover my body at the realization of being exposed to all these people. Then I move to my pants, I slide them off, carefully watching what the other patients do.
Finally I am completely naked, with no hopes of covering myself because I have to follow exact movements of the others.
I stand there, in a white room lined up behind Jillian. Standing next to the man that controls my every movement and ultimately my fate of survival.
No Pressure.
The line eventually begins moving again. We walk out of the white room and into another.
Instead of hampers, this one has a ceiling with tiny holes about an inch apart from each other. What is this?
We wait for everyone to flood into this room. I turn to D and he is gone. It is only the patients in here.
Finally everyone is inside, the door closes and latches. I look around for cameras and find none.
We wait for a few more minutes, the anticipation building. When we finally hear a croaking noise above us.
The sputtering noise finally stops when water escapes from the tiny holes in the ceiling. The water is freezing cold, I shiver as my skin rubs against those around me.
The shower lasts for an eternity. When it finally gets over I want to run out and grab a warm blanket. When we emerge from the shower room we are welcomed by an array of guards and doctors. I think I notice 'D' but it's too hard to tell.
I stare ahead, try and breath normal and to shiver less, which is nearly impossible. The other prisoners aren't shivering at all, did they lose all sense of feeling, or thinking?
After they halt, which I was ready for this time, our tour guides grab our arms again.
What a fucking tour.
D grabs my arm especially hard and tugs me towards him. My arm is numb from the water so I hardly feel the pain. But I know he is warning me to stop shivering.
The heat radiating off his body is a small luxury. I want to move closer, my nakedness is the least of my worries now.
After everyone assembles in the room everything goes quiet. They begin at the beginning of the line. I can't tell what they are doing. But whatever it is, it's not good.
Finally I see they are separating us into two groups.
"Left..... Right..... Right...... Left...." A doctor says, as she examines each of the patients.
She is almost to me, my heart is pounding so loud I'm sure everyone can hear it. Even the rest of the apparently deaf patients. She sends Jillian to the Left.
My turn.
She grabs my freezing arm and tugs me towards her. A bright light shines my eyes and I try not to squint.
Then, she backs away and looks over my whole body, I feel disgusted.
"Right." She says.
D pulls me to the right line, I feel his body relax a little. This must be good. After she is finished analyzing the rest of the patients she speaks.
"Left side goes through that door, thank you for your donation to a cure. The right side goes through that door," She points ahead of us. "You will undergo a blood transfusion shortly before you get analyzed if you will be paired up with a viable reproductive candidate.
You are the cure."
