Part 31

Meanwhile, in the party area, Alya was expecting a major drama to unfold, but to her disappointment, nothing happened. Forget about the drama, the person whom she wanted to be disgraced was also missing from the scene. Soon after, she realized that Manik wasn't around too. She tried to check with Fab4 if they knew where Manik was.

        Alya : "Have you seen Manik? I didn't see him for quite sometime."

        Cabir : "Chill Alya, he isn't a small kid that he will get lost in his own house. He must be somewhere around, he will be here soon. Are you upset for such a small reason?"

        Alya : "It isn't like that."

        Cabir : "Oh .. I get it now. You are dressed to kill today and you were expecting him to hover around you, but he isn't. Don't get disappointed, he might be busy supervising the arrangements for the party."

        Alya's reason for being upset wasn't that. First, her plan had failed and now, she was suspicious that Manik could be with Nandini since both weren't around. Both Cabir and Alya weren't wrong. Manik had moved away from the crowd to receive a call, but then he met Nandini and stayed with her.

        It was Alya's own doing. If she wouldn't have spiked Nandini's drink, then Nandini wouldn't have gone outside, and Manik wouldn't have gone to check on her. The problem was that Alya could never accept that she was at fault. In her viewpoint, it was always the other person at fault.

        Alya continued to look for Manik.

When she checked with a servant,

        Alya : "Have you seen Manik?"

        Servant : "I saw him going out sometime back."

        Alya : "Where did he go?"

        The servant pointed towards the direction Manik went. She looked outside but didn't find anyone.

        Alya : "Do you know why he went out?"

        Servant : "Nandini Mam was alone outside, so he went to get her."

        The servant didn't know that his simple statement had fanned the spark of suspicion that was ignited in Alya's mind, and turned it into a raging flame.

        Alya's thoughts : "I tried to distance Nandini from Manik's parents, but he himself has gone behind her, leaving the party."

        Alya went out to the yard and looked around, but she didn't find Manik or Nandini there. They were inside the house by then. She came back inside and after sometime she found Manik.

        Alya : "Where were you? I was looking for you everywhere."

        Manik : "I went to receive a call and I... (Manik saw Abhi looking around). Anyways, why were you looking for me?"

        Alya : "I didn't see you around, that's why."

        Alya looked around him to see if Nandini was there, but she couldn't find her.

        Nandini had told Manik that Alya had given her the juice, but he wasn't sure if it was Alya who had mixed alcohol in her drink too. It was quite possible, since she was the only one who didn't like Nandini, but he didn't know why she would do so now.
