The Right Hand of Destruction

I'm so tired of the rain
falling softly on the ground
just enough to get my feet wet
but not enough to let me drown.

-front porch step.

The military had arrived on the scene an hour later, having to pry Sonia away from Nina and Alexander.

Alphonse had to explain to them what had happened with Tucker.

'The devil's work,' they called it. They might as well be right.

It was repulsive. It was cruel.

Using your own family to do such a thing...

Two military guards stood in front of the household, keeping watch that no one authorized didn't trespass. Other officers were evaluating what had happened and questioning Tucker inside.

The rain would not let up. It beat on the ground harshly, puddles forming in the ground and dirt turning into mud.

A black boot had stepped into a puddle, but the wearer kept walking.

The man had shaded glasses covering his eyes, and he had a scar shaped like an 'X' on his dark forehead. He walked in front of the Tucker house, and was halted by the two guards.

He could let nothing stop him. He killed both me in an instant, with just one hand. The two officers were dead, a mass amount of blood pooled around their bodies and the liquid mixing with the rain.

The scarred man entered what now is a crime scene. He went where he heard voices, and entered the study room where he found Tucker and a chimera. He sat in a chair while the creature sat in front of him.

"Why don't they see things how I see them? Are they all idiots? Why doesn't anyone understand?" the crazed alchemist muttered.

"You," the man spoke, making Tucker jerk his head up. "Are you the state alchemist, Shou Tucker?"

He became panicked. "Who are you? You're not a part of the military! H-how did you get in here? There were guards outside!"

"What a foolish alchemist. They all must die," he said. Tucker backed away, but it was no use. "They shall be punished."

He grabbed a hold of Tucker's head with his right hand and did his simple attack once more as he did with the guards. His victim fell to the floor with a thud. Another one dead.

Then he takes a look at the chimera that was Nina and Alexander.

"What a pitiful creation. You should be put to rest. God will be accepting to you both and embrace you in his loving arms. At least your passing will be in peace."

It was hard for Sonia to fall asleep that night. She didn't want to, either. There were too many thoughts. Too much guilt.

'It's all my fault.'

'I could have done something.'

'I'll never forgive myself.'

She couldn't quit blaming herself. History repeats itself, and she should have known. Her heart was going to burst from guilt.

Then, in the early morning of the next day, she had been told worse news. News that made her stomach drop, her knees weak, her eyes filled with tears that would seem endless and could go on for days.

"H-hey...." she tugged on Roy's arm this morning when he woke her up. Her voice couldn't reach anymore than a dry whisper.

"Hm?"
