When Y/N woke up the next morning, the bed was significantly colder than it was when she had fallen asleep. As she fumbled around groggily, she soon discovered the reason. Revali wasn't in the bed, nor was he anywhere to be seen. Luckily, Chima was still at the desk so she sat up and asked the Rito what was going on.
'Hey Chima, where did Revali go?'
'He left about an hour ago. I assume that he went to get you breakfast again but he hasn't returned yet.'
'I wonder what's taking him so long...' Y/N thought to herself. She decided to sit and wait for his return. She spent the time talking to Chima. She had become really close to her, and they were practically best friends now. She felt as though she could be open with her about her feelings for Revali. Instead of laughing at her about being attracted to a bird, like most would, Chima was very understanding and reassured her that it was perfectly normal for different species to form relationships in Hyrule. She even told of a time where the Rito elder had an affair with a Hylian woman, however that ended when she was killed in the calamity. They spent hours chatting idly with one another (mostly about Revali) for so long that it almost reached noon and Revali still hadn't returned.
Y/N, suddenly, noticing the time, became worried.
'What if he hurt himself? He'd never leave me alone for this amount of time unless something was wrong.'
'Hey, relax, he's a busy guy. Someone might have asked him to do something important for him. Remember he's a champion after all. I'm sure he can look after himself.'
'I have a really bad feeling somethings wrong. I'm gonna go look for him. See you later Chima.'
'Okay be careful.'
When Y/N finally found Revali, he was at the flight range, practicing like usual. There didn't seem to be anything wrong, or that she could see, so why would he just leave her in the inn and forget about her. She decided to ask him.
'Hey Revali,' she greeted him. When he turned around, he seemed oddly surprised to see her here.
'Oh, Y/N. What are you doing here?' He asked.
'Looking for you, of course. We were going to work on harnessing my power, remember?'
'Oh, ummm... about that. I have sent a messenger to Princess Zelda. I informed her that you are ready to head to the castle.'
Y/N, now confused, had many questions for Revali. He seemed to be acting strangely cold towards her. She knew something was off.
'What? After just four days? I doubt it. Plus, weren't we going to appease Medoh first? That's what she said.'
'That can be taken care of.' Revali wasn't even looking at her now, he was too concentrated on his bow.
'Wait a second, somethings wrong. Why aren't you looking at me?'
Revali sighed, seemingly frustrated with the girl. 'Look, can't you see I'm busy here? You have businesses to attend to, as well. It's not good for the future queen of Hyrule to be loitering around here all day. Now go and make yourself useful.'
Y/N was biting back tears at this point. She didn't understand. They had just shared a really romantic evening. What had changed in such a short space of time. 'Revali, why are you being like this?!'
'Just go. I don't have time for this right now.' He shot another target, missing it. 'See, look what you made me do.'
'That wasn't MY fault!' Y/N protested, now very angry. She decided to just let it all out there and then. 'You know what, Revali? Screw you. Screw you and your stupid archery! All you care about is yourself, and I was an idiot for thinking otherwise. Why did I think you actually cared about me! All the other guys I've ever met have led me on, why did I think you'd be any different?! You don't love me, you never had. You just used my feelings to boost your own ego. Well I'm through with it. Through with you.'
Revali turned around, alarmed by her sudden outburst.
'Y/N!' He called after her, now knowing that he had messed up. He dropped his bow and began to chase her, but she was already gone.
Still resisting the urge to cry, she burst back into the Rito inn where Chima was waiting, confused.
'Did you find him?' She asked.
'I've got to go. Now.' This took the female Rito by surprise.
'So soon?!' She gasped. 'But what about Revali?'
'I don't care about him.' She responded coldly, refusing to look at her friend. Chima was unconvinced, so Y/N reiterated, 'Seriously. I don't. Now can you please help me pack?'
'Y/N!! Wait!!! I need to talk to you!' Revali begged as he burst through the door of the Rito inn and attempted to place his wing on her shoulder. 'Don't be rash! We need to talk about us!'
'There IS no us, Revali. You've made that perfectly clear. Now get out of my way.' She proceeded to storm out of the inn.
Revali, attempting to follow her, was blocked by Chima. 'Just leave it. You've done enough damage.' She said coldly.
And with a heavy heart, Revali watched his love go...

It was a long and exhausting journey to Hyrule castle from Rito village. Y/N decided that horseback would be the best option. Soon enough, she had tamed a wild horse and was galloping along roads. She encountered some monsters along the way, but she didn't have the time nor the energy to deal with them, so she just made her horse speed past them. She was lucky in the fact that this was a fast horse. The journey was also filled with tears. She truly thought that Revali cared for her. She had grown very fond of him in the time she had spent with him. From the way he had opened up to her, the way he looked at her, and the way he held her, she had never felt this way about anyone else before. And she was convinced he had felt the same, but Now she just felt like an idiot.
Link and Zelda immediately picked up on the fact something was wrong when she entered the wreckage that was Hyrule castle.
'Y/N! Are you alright?!' Zelda asked, very concerned now.
'I'm fine,' she lied, not wanting to look her cousin in the eye. Zelda and Link exchanged glances. They knew she was NOT fine. But they weren't going to pry.
'I heard that your power is completely ready, yes?' Zelda asked.
'That's What HE said,' Y/N shrugged.
'Has something happened between you two?' She asked suspiciously.
'No. How's your power coming along, Zelda?'
'I've got to be honest, I'm really struggling. I've been up to all three springs, yet I have found nothing.'
'I know exactly when to use my power. So if yours IS the same, I may have some helpful advice for you.'
'Oh really? Do share!' The daunted Princess now seemed excited to hear this advice.
'Not in front of Link, though,'
Link quickly got the message, nodding before he took off in an opposite direction. When Y/N turned back to Zelda, she was met with a look of confusion.
'We need to talk about your feelings for that guy.'
Zelda immediately blushed and averted eye contact.
