"Both of you 10 laps around the rink," I said.
"But.......," Jarron started.
"No, but's about it," I say and continue with, "after that I want both of you on the bench. Do you hear me?"
"Yes, Leah," Jarrod said.
"Yes, ma'am," Jarron said sarcastically.
"Hey and while you're out there lose your attitude," I told Jarron.
"Make me," Jarron said.
"You just earned yourself 5 more laps around the rink," Uncle Marty said.
"I'll be out to talk to both of you in a few minutes," I said to them then turned and asked my uncle, "do we have any coffee?"
"Ya, up front like always; why?" Uncle Marty asked.
"I'm running low on energy," I answered.
"How much sleep did you get on the bus ride back over here?" Uncle Marty asked.
"3 hours," I said. I drank my cup of coffee and then went back to ice rink #5. Jarrod was on his 6th lap and Jarron was on his 8th lap. I go talk to Jarrod first.
"Why were you and Jarron fighting this time?" I asked him.
"He started bad mouthing you're playing skills and so I started pushing him," Jarrod answered.
"Next time tell me and don't let him get in your head. If you let him in your head you'll be sitting out tomorrows game just like him," I said.
"I know Leah; you know how he acts whenever you boss him around," Jarrod said.
"4 more laps and then on the bench," I said.
"Yes Leah," Jarrod said. After I was finished talking to Jarrod I went to talk to Jarron.
"Jarrod told me that you were bad mouthing my playing skills," I said.
"I was not. I said you weren't that great of a coach and he went off and started telling me I was bad mouthing your skills even though everyone knows you are/were the best player on the team," Jarron said.
"Jarron you are right about me not being that great of a coach but, I'm better than a lot of people. You're sarcasm that you used earlier didn't bother me; it bothered my uncle because you weren't showing respect to people that are older and wiser than you. You got 3 more laps and then to the bench," I said.
"Who do you think is telling the truth?" Uncle Marty asked. I told him to walk with me and the Dallas Stars continued to follow us around.
"Honestly neither. Jarron sounded like he wasn't lying but hey I'm gonna have to look at the surveillance cam to see who is right," I said.
"You can do that tomorrow morning," Uncle Marty said.
"I know," I said.
"Let's lock up and head home your aunt has missed you this whole weekend," Uncle Marty said.
"Yes let us," I said to Uncle Marty and then yelled to the others, "hey y'all can practice tomorrow because it's time to close up." The whole Allen American team left and so did the Dallas Stars. My uncle and I made it home at about 9 o'Clock at night. Once I got home I went and showered, put on my PJ's and went to bed.
The next morning I got up at 5 o'clock and had my breakfast and left before my uncle and aunt got up. I got to the ice rink at 5:30 a.m. and watched the surveillance cam and Jarron was right. My uncle got to work at about 7:30 a.m. I was busy setting up the skates when he came in. Uncle Marty told me to clean the ice when I was finished with the skates. I was cleaning the last ice rink when the Stars came to it.
"Hey Leah you almost done?" Marty asked.
"Ya, I got a little more than I'm done!" I yelled back.
"We open in 5 minutes!"Marty yelled.
"Ok," I said then I went back to finishing the ice. Once I finished I went up front and got there just in time.
"Welcome to Allen American Ice Center today we have free skate in ice rink #2 and lessons in ice rink #5. We want you to have fun and know we got the best select team you can find. If you are here later on today the team and I will be practicing. Now we want you to all have fun," I said.
"Hey Leah," Jackson said.
"Hey ready for your lesson?" I asked him.
"Totally I think I got some more moves down," Jackson said.
"Awesome let's wait for the other 2 kids and then we'll go back there," I said.
"Ok," he said.
"Hey Jackson. Hey Leah," the other two say.
"Guys I got something to tell y'all," I said.
"What?" they all ask.
"You guys will have to find a new private teacher next fall/winter time," I said.
"Why?" they ask.
"I'm moving up to the big leagues," I said.
"That's great for you we will find someone right guys?" Jackson said/asked.
"Ya we will," they said. So we finished there lessons and we said our goodbyes. I went to ice rink #2 to see how those people were doing.
