Chapter 43

Lori's POV

I got up early to take a shower and look decent for the first day at work. I mean working in a bakery is just a small job meanwhile I find a real one.

By the time I was ready it was barely 9:20. My shift wasn't until 10. Oh well. I yelled a goodbye to uncle Mark and walked out the door putting my earphones in and blasting my music.

I stopped by that near by bench I sat on yesterday and just swung my legs back and forth. I put my hoodie on covering my face since it was getting rather cold.

Liam's POV

Me and Niall decided to stop by the bakery again. He wanted a donut. Then we are going to start searching again. Yesterday we had no luck at all. Half the houses we knocked on didn't even open up so we are going back to those houses.

Niall and I sat down in a table inside. Margot, the girl behind the counter had an excited look on her face.

"Who are you waiting for?" I asked trying to start a conversation meanwhile Niall finished eating.

"My boss told me I was going to have another co-worker today. She's my age and I don't know I'm just excited to meet her." She said.

"What time will she come by?" I asked.

"Like in 30 minutes. Want to wait with me to meet her or are you busy?" She asked.

"Actually, I'm quite busy. I should get going. See you tomorrow. I'm sure Niall and I are going to come here everyday." I said laughing and standing up waiting for Niall to follow.

We walked out and I saw the girl from yesterday. She looked at her watch and started to get up. She started to walk towards us with her head facing the floor, and her hands in her sweater.

"Excuse me, I don't think your loud music is-" I said to her but she just walked past me not bothering to look up.

"She can't hear you stupid." Niall said whacking my head.

Lori's POV

I looked down at my watch and saw it was 9:40. It wouldn't harm anyone coming to work 20 minutes early. I got up from the bench and started walking to the bakery with head facing the floor.

I lowered my music as I entered the bakery. I saw a girl around my age behind the counter.

"Hi, what would you like to order?" she asked.

"Well actually I'm supposed to start working here in like 20 minutes but I decided to show up early." I said smiling.

"You're my new co-worker?! Wow! You are so pretty! Hi, I'm Margot." She said with excitement and sticking her hand. I shook her hand smiling.

"My name is Lorena, you can call me Lori or Lauren or just my regular name." I said.

"I'm guessing you are a fan of one direction." She said looking at my hoodie.

"Yeah, I love them actually." I said smiling and looking down at my sweater.

"You would get right along with a few good friends of mine." she said smiling evilly.

"Would you like to meet them tomorrow?" she asked.

"Sure." I said smiling.

The next few hours went by fast. The bakery wasn't super busy but it had a decent number of customers. I said bye to Margot and exchanged numbers with her. Yep. I finally memorized my number.

I went home around 5 p.m. I guess uncle Mark is at work cause he wasn't home. I went upstairs to my room. I put my phone to charge and looked around my room. I walked towards my closet and opened it. There was a box with a ribbon on top, a note attached to it.
