Lori's POV

I woke up feeling pretty good. Finally things are going to be normal. I looked next to me to see Louis. His hair was messy and he had a slightly small smile playing on his lips. He must be dreaming something great then. I untangled myself from him and got out of bed. I went to the restroom and saw my reflection. The bruise still evident on my face. It was no longer in the shape of a hand it just looked like a big spot. I cringed as I poked my cheek. I quickly brushed my teeth and headed back into my room. I picked my phone up from the small table beside the bed and checked the time. Wow, it was barely 7:30 a.m. It's still early. I climbed back in bed. I covered myself in the blankets and started to slowly fall asleep until I felt someone wrap their arms around my waist. I turned and faced Louis. His eyes still closed. Was he pretending or was he still asleep? I placed my hands on his chest and pushed him off the bed but since he was holding onto me I fell with him.

"Ow! Lori!" He yelled rubbing his eyes. Well I guess he WAS asleep. Oops.

"Sorry." I said smiling innocently and batting my eyelashes. I got up and held my hand out to help him up. He took my hand and I helped him back up.

"I have now successfully gotten a bruise on both my cheeks." I said playfully. I rubbed my other cheek where I landed on. I expected Louis to laugh along with me but he didn't. I looked at him and saw the look of regret on his face.

"Oh Louis, I didn't mean for you to remember, I just meant I have a bruise on my face because of the floor when we fell." I said.

"Yeah but I caused one of those bruises." he said looking down.

"Louis, I told you it was okay, just let it go." I said sighing.

"But I can't! And-"

"Louis please, let's not fight right now, it's too early." I said closing my eyes.

"Then when? We're just going to keep avoiding it." he said.

"Let's just put a pause to this okay?" I asked. He didn't answer.

"Pause?" I asked.

"Pause." he responded.

"Now let's go back to sleep." I said taking his hand and giving him a small smile. And together we both fell asleep.

I woke up again and looked over at Louis who was still asleep. I quietly and slowly got out of bed. I picked up my phone checking the time. 10:45 a.m. I heard noise most likely coming from the kitchen which meant the rest of the lads were up. I slowly started to make my way towards the door. I was about to unlock it and leave when I accidentally dropped my phone causing Louis to wake up.

"Un Pause." he said getting out of bed.

"Louis-"

"No, I said un pause." He spoke standing in front of me.

"Fine! You want to un pause this? Fine! Louis I'm just mad that you won't let this go! I already forgave you!" I yelled.

"But I haven't! I haven't forgiven myself! What I did was wrong and the guilt is eating me alive! You won't have to live with the guilt!" He yelled louder.

"Well I'm sorry Louis! I just, Why can't you let this go?!" I screamed trying to yell louder than he did.

"Because I slapped you! You will have to live all your life knowing I hit you!" He yelled.

"I could forget it! You know I easily forget things!" I yelled my hands flying up to tug at the roots of my hair.

"But I can't! You just don't understand!" He yelled turning away letting out a shaky breath.
