''I challenge you to a duel, Father''

This single phrase took everyone in the village by surprise. Surely this demon couldn't be the child of their leader, their hero? ''It is about time I finally took this nonsense to an end.'' He spoke, deeper and calmer to his supposed father, who spoke but a single word. He simply unsheathed his blade, a long slender katana. It was Ammy, who broke the silence.... well she tried to until she was hit by the guards. She yelped in pain as she stumbled back against the pillar to which she was bound. Just hearing that noise.... that damn noise, it sent me Yume into a blood rage. Before even a single word was spoken by his father or the guards, Yume charged forward with a bloodcurdling screech. Whatever humanity I he had left, it was now long gone, along with any chance of forgiveness. He charged at his father; whose eyes could only see this...thing that was once his son charge at him with nothing but murderous intent. But before he could even register what had become of his son, all was replaced with a sudden, intense and sharp pain in his right arm, which held his sword. However, before he could try to see what had happened, a noise of a katana hitting the ground could be heard. When the father looked at what his son had done, he saw that his hand and wrist had been removed. But this wasn't a clean cut, no this was almost like an animal had bitten it off. Then a laugh came from behind him: ''Let me give you a helping hand, father.'' Before he could even register who, it came from, another sharp pain struck his chest. before he could even register who, it was, the blade pierced his chest. So many thoughts must have been running through his mind. But they soon came to a painful, yet quick-ish end. Yume grabbed the hilt of the blade which had impaled his father with both hands and slashed upwards, ending his father's life. After this he turned back to everyone behind him; Ammy, the soldiers, the villagers. He sighed and said with a calm and collected tone: ''free her from her bindings, NOW!'' After having seen the display of power from this demon, they dared not test his patience and cut the girl loose. Instead of immediately running over to him, she hesitated and then walked over to him slowly. He sheathed his blade, and gestured for her to follow him. Once she was beside him, he began walking away from the village square and towards the gate he once climbed to escape. But this time there was a difference. This time he left with pride, whereas before he left with nothing but fear and regret.

30 minutes later, in the forest near to Konohana.

As they walked, Yume noticed that the sun had begun to set far too early. This meant that either Amaterasu wanted the day to end far earlier or that she wished to speak to him. He stopped walked and sighed, before speaking: ''If you wished to speak to me, Amaterasu, you need only...." Before he could finish his sentence, he was transported back into the mountain landscape he had first met Yami so long ago. When he looked around, he was in the mountain scape he had met Yami so long ago. But this time it was not Yami that was there to greet him. It was a goddess this time, and she didn't seem to be very pleased by what had just happened. He walked over to the goddess slowly and sat down in front of her.

For a little while she remained silent, but then she asked a question to me Yume that shook him: "why did you give in to that demon?''
