Ed's POV

"Don't do anything to sabotage her dad"

Her words kept haunting me. Every minute of every hour. I had to resist sabotaging and ruining Nick's dad, again, so she would stay with us. But how could I resist keeping a daughter? I'm in the kitchen, standing at the door, when Jeremy walks in.

Jeremy: Dad?

Ed: Huh? Jer! Hey!

Jeremy: Are you ok? You seem kinda lost?

Ed: Yeah. Don't worry about it. I'm fine.

Nick's POV

This is like the 100th lunch with him now. Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but you get it. Anyways, my dad wants to tell me something. I can feel it. He hasn't touched his drink since he I sat down. He's been giving me glances with the intention of saying something, but as soon as I notice, he looks away.

Nick: Dad?

Tony: Yeah?

Nick: We've been doing this lunch thing for a while now...

Tony: Yeah, I've been meaning to talk to you about that.

Nick: You-you have?

Tony: Yeah, how are things going with the Thompsons?

"How are things going with the Thompsons? Did you take them down yet? We need to destroy them Nicki. They ruined us!"

One...two...three...

It's not the same as before. He's different. Remember that. He doesn't want you to sabotage them.

Tony: Nick?

When he asked me how things were going, I flash backed to when I was taking them down. I went back to all the hate, all the times where I didn't want to do it anymore but he was forcing me. Sam and Dorothy were. I guess I haven't put all that behind me.

Nick: Yeah, things are great.

Tony: Are you sure? For a second there, you seemed kind of-

Nick: Yep. Everything's great. We're having one of Liz's famous dinners tonight.

Tony: That sounds great. The top chef making dinner. That must be great.

My phone starts to ring.

Nick: I'm getting a call.

Tony: Go. Take it. I'll be right here.

I step outside and see that it's Liz.

Nick: Hey Liz.

Liz: Hey Nick. What's up?

Nick: Nothing. Just having lunch with my dad.

Liz: Well that's nice. I'm just calling to check if you wanted anything special for thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

Nick: Um, pumpkin pie.

Liz: Is that everything? You sound kinda unsure.

Nick: Oh, it's not the dinner thing. It's me and my dad. He wants to tell me something but I don't know what it is.

Liz: Are you sure he wants to say something? Maybe it's just that you've been having the same lunch at the same place for a while. Maybe that's it.

Nick: Maybe. So what should I do?

Liz: Go see a movie. Distract yourselves and clear your minds a bit.

Nick: That's not a bad idea.

Liz: I even heard they're showing the breakfast club again.

Nick: Today?!

Liz: Yeah. You told us that it was you and your dad's movie. You two used to watch it together all the time.

Nick: Yes! Yes! Oh my god! Liz, thank you! You're the best!

Liz: Always happy to help.

Nick: I appreciate it. A lot. I love you Liz.

Liz: I love you too Nick. Be home safe.

Nick: Will do.

Liz: Hey, if you want, you can invite your dad for thanksgiving dinner.

Nick: I don't know. Are you sure that's a good idea?

Liz: It'll be like a peace dinner. You know? Like the ones that war generals had to make peace with each other.

Nick: I'll see what I can do. But are you sure the others will be ok with this?

Liz: Don't worry. I got this.

Liz is sort of like one of the mission impossible agents or a secret spy. She said "I got this" and just hung up. She's so cool.

Nick: Hey dad. Wanna go see a movie?

Tony: Sure. Which one?

Nick: The Breakfast Club.

Tony: No way! That's in theaters?!

Nick: Yep! C'mon! Let's go.

Liz's POV

Liz: EVERYONE IN THE KITCHEN NOW!

Ed: What's wrong?!

Jeremy: Is everything ok?!

Molly: What happened?!

Liz: I have an announcement.

Molly: YOU GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK BECAUSE YOU HAD SOMETHING TO SAY!??!

Liz: Maybe. Listen, I just talked to Nick, and she's gonna see a movie with her dad.

Jeremy: Ok?

Liz: So I asked if she wanted anything special for thanksgiving and I also asked if she wanted to bring her dad.

Ed: Are you crazy?!

Liz: No, I'm reasonable.

Jeremy: How is inviting Nick's dad over for thanksgiving reasonable?

Liz: We are Nick's family. But we keeps forgetting that her dad is also her family. He's been having lunch with her for weeks and we haven't even asked if he wanted to come for dinner or anything.

Ed: Yes but Liz, we didn't do that because of what we did. Remember? The ruining his restaurant, stealing his menus, posting bad reviews and again stealing his re-opening flyers. Yelling at him while he was prison.

Liz: The last one was important.

Ed: Yes, but we made feel like Nick wasn't his daughter anymore.

Liz: This is what this dinner is about. We've been through so much this year. It's time to fix everything that went wrong.

Ed's POV

"He's her family too"

Why do all her words haunt me? Everything Liz said makes sense, but I always feel awful afterwards.

A/N: Tune in next week for the Thanksgiving special.
