Chapter 3: Silah
I stopped the car outside Kate's house. Caden didn't look like he was coming in. He turned his nose up in disgust. I bit my tongue to keep for yelling at him.
"Let's go." I finally snapped and swung open the car door. I got out and slammed the door shut behind me. It relieved some of the stress. Caden got out seconds later, anger plastered across his face.
"Did you just slam the door on me?" He grunted angrily. I nodded.
"It's my car. My door. I'll do with it what I want." I advanced on him, backing him up against the car door.
"Back off." He snapped.
"I can't believe I'm stuck with some little stuck up pot head asshole like you!" I shouted, immediately covering my mouth with my hand. Dammit. That was bad. Caden's gaze narrowed.
"You may be a girl, but I will kick your ass." He said slowly. Oh hell no. I released my mouth and slammed my hand into the side of his face PHWAK! Caden covered his left cheek and stared at me in disbelief.
"Good luck trying." I said through my teeth and made my way to the drivers side of the door. "And tell Kate and Dylan I can't stand to be in a room with you and I've got other priorities to deal with. So they can deal with on by themselves. I'm not a baby sitter." With that, I jumped in the car and started it up. Caden took a few steps back onto the sidewalk before I sped off to anywhere but near him. That sick bastard. I didn't understand how he brought out this horrible side to me. Usually I'd let stupid stuff go. But... I just couldn't.
As I drove away I remember Doanna. I mentally slapped myself for not calling her. I tapped a button on the steering wheel and the car dialed for me.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hey Do, I'm so sorry. I'll come pick you up as soon as I get Cecil."
"S'alright. I've been reading. Call me when you're close!" She laughed and hung up.
I smiled contently and drove to the high school. My little brother sat on the grass. His blond hair ruffled from the wind. He was tanner than I, but much less muscles. He was like a bone with skin. His strong jaw and freckle covered face. I rolled down the window as I pulled up. My blue eyes met with his exact replica.
"Hey kid... Want some candy?" I wiggled my eyebrows at him and he erupted into laughter. "Get in retard." I smiled as he made his way to the passengers seat.
"How was school?" I asked as he buckled his seat. He shrugged. "And lacrosse practice?" I said and started to drive away from the school.
"Fine... The other kids still pick on me cause I'm smaller than them..." He mumbled. I glanced at him. He was a cute kid, but still pretty small for 14. I understood why the kids pick on him. Though it was NOT okay with me.
"If they give you any more trouble, come find me or call me. Alright?" I repeated for the thousandth time. No matter how many times the kids picked on him, he never came to me.
"Yeah yeah... Have my big sis fight my battles. A new thing for them to bully me for." I clutched the wheel tighter as we drove to the bookstore.
"They don't even have to... They shouldn't be fucking bullying you in the first place!" I shouted. Cecil cringed and leaned away from me. A small smile formed on his lips.
"What?" I asked, slowly starting to calm down.
"You said fucking." He laughed. "No swearing! My poor innocent ears!" He laughed harder, clutching his stomach. I giggled slightly.
"Like you've never heard it before." I laughed and rolled my eyes at his amused expression. His gaze shifted outside.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"To pick up Doanna."
"Then home?"
"Then home..." I agreed and pulled up to the bookstore.
Doanna stood up from her seat on the bench. Her black hair cascaded around her features. Large brown eyes on her rather delicate face. She was short as well. Not as small as my brother but shorter than most other Juniors. Her blue jeans fit her perfectly, complimented by a baggy white button up shirt. She flashed Cecil a bright smile and waved at me before climbing into the car. She reached up from the back seat and pulled me into a tight hug before settling back down.
"Well, choking me was your way of hello?" I laughed. Cecil turned around excitedly and flashed Doanna a bright smile.
"Oh shut up." Doanna grinned and ruffled Cecil's hair. He turned back around and sighed happily. Doanna was like his other sister. She felt like a sister to me as well.
"Your place?" I asked and started to drive. Doanna nodded yes before chatting with Cecil.
The car phone rang. I grumbled slightly but hushed everyone up and answered. It surprised me who it was.
"Kate told me to call you. I can't believe you slapped me you bitch!" Caden's voice screamed. I hit the brakes, causing unhappy people behind me. I blinked and started to drive again.
"My brother is in the car. Don't you ever swear again. Got it? And you deserved it!" I shouted. Cecil placed his hand on my shoulder and I relaxed.
"Who is it?" Cecil asked quietly.
"Sorry your damn brother is in the car but you need to get the fu-fudge over here right now." Caden interrupted. I clamped my jaw shut.
"I'm not going. I'm dropping off my friend and taking my little brother home, Caden. You can be a big boy and do this with Kate and Dylan." I snapped.
"God you're a bitch!" He screamed. I tightened my grip on the wheel until my knuckles turned white.
"Look who's talking! You know why your dick is so small Caden?" An amused smile made its way to my face. "Because to much of it is shoved into you personality!"
"Excuse me?!" Caden yelled. Cecil's grip on my arm tightened. My smile faded.
"Calm Silah..." Cecil whispered. Doanna leaned forward, worry filled her eyes.
"Goodbye Caden." I finally muttered angrily. Cecil reached up and ended the call. I relaxed a bit and pulled up to Doanna's house. She leaned forward and gave me another hug.
"I'm here if you need to talk. Love you girl." She turned and gave Cecil a kiss on the forehead. "Love you to kiddo." She got out of the car. I waited till she was in her house before started to drive home.
"Was that Caden Brown?" Cecil asked nervously. I took one hand off the wheel and patted Cecil's leg.
"Yeah... I'm sorry Cecil... I shouldn't have been yelling in front of you."
"It's okay... I'm glad you did."
"What? Why?" I asked and placed my hand back on the wheel.
"Because he's the one who bullies me..."
Oh. Hell. No.
