Chapter 10: Cecil

I felt this horrible need to vomit. As I quietly watched him drape his arms around her, furry boiled inside me and toppled over. I couldn't help my self. I balled my hands into fists and shouted.

"I told you to stay away from my sister!" I shouted down the hall. Silah's reaction was quick. She shoved against Caden and backed up against the wall. Her blue eyes went 10 times bigger and she bit her lip nervously. Caden slowly turned his brown eyes on me. He didn't look angry. He looked rather sad, actually.

"Cecil, I'm so so so sorry." Silah started, taking a step closer. Fury swarm through me as Caden reached out and took her hand. She let him. SHE LET HIM!

"Shut up Silah!" I screamed as she tried to apologize again. She shrunk away and against Caden, who comforted her... He did what I was supposed to do. I felt horrible.

"Don't talk to your sister like that!" Caden snapped at me. His eyes went dark as he took an advancing step towards me, gently pushing Silah behind him. I was ready. I'd memorized the look.

"I told you... I warned you." I whispered darkly. Silah grabbed Caden's shoulder and pushed him away. Her eyes locked with mine. I didn't back away from her gaze. I advanced on her. She stood, frozen from my bluntness. It wasn't I side I showed often. I reached out and grabbed her arm, ignoring the whimper she did while I did so.

"Let her go Cecil." Caden commanded, grabbing my shoulder and spinning me to face him. I would have been intimidated by his height and that fury in his eyes.... If it weren't for the pure rage that flooded through my veins.

"Go... Your 'services' are not needed." I practically growled. If not for my firm grasp on Silah's arm, I would have hit him.

"Cecil..." Silah whispered. I ignored her but watched Caden's eyes move to Silah. I released her arm but she made no move.

"Caden, go. Now. I need to talk to my sister. Alone." I said rather darkly.

Caden switched his gaze to me. If not for Silah stepping in front of him, I was sure he would have attacked me. Silah reached up and whispered something to Caden. His gaze softened as he searched her face. Finally, he nodded. Slowly, he turned and walked down the hallway. Silah turned to me, unnerved by my angry gaze.

"Well?" She prompted, folding her arms protectively across her chest. I relaxed once Caden was out of my view.

"You need to stay away from him. What the hell were you guys doing anyway?" I questioned. Silah's cheeks went a soft pink color.

"He was just being nice. That's all."

"Caden isn't nice." I snapped.

"Well, right now neither are you!" She paused, crinkling her nose in disgust. "Nothing's going on Cecil...."

"Why can't you just stay away from him?"

"We aren't even together. I can talk to whoever I want." She stomped her foot in anger. It was childish actually.

"Silah! This one person! Who's bullied me since I came here! You choose him of all people to be buddy buddy with! Silah! Anyone else but him!" I was pleading now. My previous confidence and anger and disappeared. Now it was just me and my sister.

Silah stuck out her bottom lip and sighed in defeat. She released her arms from around her chest and opened them up for an embrace. I took a tentative step towards her and she did the rest. Her arms wrapped around me in a firm tight hug. I breathed in her vanilla and coffee scent. I sighed against her chest but she didn't move. She just ran her fingers through my hair slowly. She pressed a kiss to my head.

"Cecil... No one will ever take me away from you... Not even Caden." She sighed and pulled away just enough so I could see the sadness in her eyes. "If it means this much to you..."

"It does."

"Then I won't talk to him. You know I'd do anything for you brp." She managed a small smile that I returned.

"Go back to class Silah." I rolled my eyes and gave her a little shove. She made a face that I laughed at.

"Same with you. See you after school." Silah kissed my cheek before retreating back into her classroom.

I turned on my heel, stuffing my hands in my pockets. I started walking to my class, stopping when I heard his cough. I froze, anger slowly starting to creep back.

"What do you want." I snapped at him. He emerged from the darkness behind a locker.

"You can't keep her away from me Cecil. You know she's falling for me too." Caden said slowly. I let his words sink in but refused to believe him.

"Who would ever love you?" I questioned. I couldn't hide the smirk that made its way to my face as Caden's face went red.

"Silah. Silah can love me." He whispered angrily, running a hand through his hair.

"She might be able to, that doesn't mean she will." I snapped harshly and stormed down the hallway to my class. I didn't turn to see if Caden understood. He should have. Who could love someone has horrible as he?
