Chapter 9: Caden

She was gone before I could talk to her. I watched as she practically ran down the hall. Her hips swishing from side to side. I almost slammed into a freshman, I was to entranced to notice him at first. I sent him a warning glare before following after Silah again.

I couldn't seem to figure out how she got to be such a huge part of my life. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago I had no idea who this girl was? Now here I was, drooling after every single move she made. I wanted to hold her, kiss her, whisper sweet nothings in her ear. I wanted to be good. I wanted to be good for her. I didn't even go with Anna that night, I was that whipped already. I internally groaned. God this was bad.

"Caden!" Treyvon called as he made his way to my right. Flynn slid to my right. I rolled my shoulders and took my spot as the lead.

"Hey Trey, you get that cheerleader to go out with you?" Flynn asked.

"Yeah. Britney." Trey laughed and wiggled his eyebrows.

"SICK!" Flynn exclaimed. He made a horrified face. "Don't be a douche."

"I never am!"

"You ALWAYS are!" Flynn chuckled. Trey rolled his eyes.

I hardly paid attention to their banter as I watched Silah duck into her second period. I sighed and walked with the guys to our lunch table. Non of us ever went to second period. I sat down at the table and sighed as we went on with our usual routine. Trey took out his bong and Flynn casually hid our actions with his back pack.

"Caden... Dude, here." Trey handed me the bong. I took my share and handed it to Flynn.

"What's up bro?" Flynn asked and handed the rest to Trey. I shrugged nonchalantly. Not even weed could curve my edge.

"I've been thinking about Silah." I mumbled. Trey coughed and stared at me.

"She is pretty." Flynn mumbled nervously, his eyes darting anywhere but my face.

"You've never mentioned her before." I snapped at Flynn. He flinched from my harshness before regaining his facade of calmness.

"You never noticed her either Caden." He said quietly, keeping an unwavering gaze. His eyes were unreadble.

"Get over her. I hear she's freaking nuts. With her parents dead and all." Trey scoffed happily. I froze.

"What?"

"That's why she punched you in the nose. You hurt the only family she has." Flynn mumbled.

"Physcooooo!" Trey sang, completely unaware I was planning HIS death for being such an ass.

"Shit!" I grumbled and pushed away from our table. Flynn looked taken back but stood up, as he gathered his bag.

"CADEN! Wait up brah!" Trey grunted and started for me. I spun on him.

"Sit your ass down." I ordered. He stared at me with wide eyes but obliged. Flynn sank back down in his seat. His eyes filled with concern. I softened my gaze only a little.

I turned back around and stormed to Silah's class. I tried to compose myself as I opened the door. The eyes suddenly moved from the perky teacher to me. I met Silah's perfect blue eyes but shifted my gaze to the teacher.

"Mr. Reyes would like to speak to Silah." I said as calmly as I could. The teacher nodded and motioned for Silah to come with me. She got up cautiously, eyes focused on me. She groaned under her breath as she passed me. I couldn't help but be turned on by that action. Everything she did brought me happiness.
