merediths POV

I shrugged those messages off, hoping they wouldn't amount to anything. I got myself and my kids ready for the day.

"Mommy someone's at the door!" I heard Zola say across the room.

I went up to the door and opened it. It was Deluca.
I went outside by him and shut the door.

"What are you doing at my house?!" I half yelled because I didn't want my kids to hear.
"Just checking up on you. After... you know."
"Yes well I'm fine thanks for coming."
"Meredith."
"What?"
"Is everything ok?"
"Yes. Now please go my kids are home."
"Can I say hi?" he asked trying to look through the windows.
"Deluca. We aren't dating."

"Right... I also wanted to ask, if you want, I'm free for lunch today."
"Oh. Umm sure."
"Oh really? I didn't think you would say yes."
"Just know we aren't dating: This is as friends."
"Not yet anyway."
"Deluca! Gooo!"

He walked away smiling. I finished getting ready for work.

I have a date. I smiled to myself.

<hOuRs LaTeR>

It was finally time for our lunch and I was excited. I want to get to know him before I rush into anything. I walked down the stairs of the hospital lounge and saw him waiting for me.

"Ahh Deluca. I hope you weren't waiting long."
"Hey call me Andrew. And no I wasn't."
"Ok let's go!"

"Do you have a place in mind?" He asked me confused.
"Yeah I do actually. I chose it with you in mind."
"Meredith... is it italian?"
"Maybe."
He just laughed and we walked out.

When we got there he looked upset.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Oh-nothing."

He gave me a fake smile and held the door open for me.
"Thank you!"
He smiled then look at one of the staff members with disgust.
"Ok what is wrong with you?"
"I promise you it's nothing."

"Hi table for 2." I said.
"Ahh Andrea!!" The worker said smiling at Andrew.
"Please don't..." He was looking down at the marble floor.
"Andrew! Chi è questa ragazza?" (who is this girl?)
"Lei è mia amica, ok?" (she's my friend, ok?)
"Ahhh haha, giusto, sei amico" The worker said laughing. (right, you're friend)
"Smettila!" (stop it!)

"Umm guys?" I said looking at them.
"Bella, my cousin here do not want to tell me truth," he said with incorrect english.
"Bella? And did you just say cousin?"
"Beautiful." He said with a wink, "And yes siamo cugini!" (we're cousins)

I look at them as they argue. I see the resemblance now. They have the same nose and face structure. Even though I took Italian in college, I can't keep up with their conversation.

"Smettila di parlarle!" (stop talking to her!)
"Perché? Ti sta facendo arrabbiare?" (why? is it making you mad?)
"Basta fermarlo!" (just stop it!)
"Bene." (fine)

"So... You want to explain what is happening?"
He sighed but obliged, "This is my cousin Mario and he works for the family restaurant. Let's just say, he's not my favorite person in the world."
"Oh... I'm so sorry I brought us here. I had no idea."

"So you really on date with pretty girl as friend? Andrea you've never been very smart have you?" Mario asked.
"No I'm sorry you had to meet him." He said motioning towards Mario.

Mario looked at Andrew and said, "I will tell tuo padre you were here." (your father)
Andrew winced and said, "Please don't."
"Why not? You have always been like this cugino."
"You know why. Let's go somewhere else Meredith."
"Bye Andrea and Meredith. Good to see you."

Andrew quickly walked out without another word.
I looked at my phone.

new message from unknown number
meredith stop talking to him.
you haven't forgotten about me already have you?

"Not again."
"What?"
"I just keep getting texts from this unknown number."
"That's weird."
"They all are telling me to stop talking to you. This time they used my name."
"Uhh... Meredith." He was tapping my shoulder and when I looked at his face it looked like he saw a ghost.

I looked at what he was staring at and I felt sick.

I was the one who had seen a ghost now.
