I checked the test and checked it again.

"Woah...." I said to myself.
"Mer? What is it?" Maggie asked. Andrew stood up and walked over to me. He put his hand on my arm to calm me down.

He looked down and saw why I reacted the way I did.
"It's... positive?" he asked. He looked at me and I gave him a confused look back.

Maggie jumped up and ran over to us. She wrapped us in a big hug. I couldn't help but be nervous though. She released us from the embrace and looked us both in our faces, trying to read our emotions.

She looked at Andrew first. I followed her gaze and he looked ecstatic. He was beaming. I've never seen him smile that big before. Then they both turned to me. I did have a slight smile on my face but they both took my face as a sign that something was wrong.

"Mer, you ok?" Maggie asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. I mean I'm-" Oh no. I noticed Andrew's face change slightly. He now looked more concerned for me than happy.
"Hey, it's ok to be nervous," he said grabbing my hands. His fingers interlocking with mine always seemed to calm me down and this time was no different. I relaxed myself and put my head on his shoulder.

"I admit I am nervous but I'm still happy about this," I told them.
"Really?" he asked with a spark returning in his eyes.
"Seriously."

"Aww! I'm so happy for you guys!" Maggie squealed.
"Wow. Zola's gonna have a friend," I said thinking about her tucked up in her bed. That's when the time of night hit me.

2 AM

"We need to go to sleep," I said. They both turned to look at the time, "I have a shift tomorrow."
"Me too," Andrew said.
"Yeah me too," Maggie said, "Well goodnight you two."

We all walked up the stairs. Maggie went into her own room and Andrew and I climbed into bed together.

That night we didn't really talk, we just cuddled before I fell asleep. I felt safe though. But more importantly, I felt happy.
