Meredith's POV

I recognized his voice immediately. His face dropped, "Meredith?!" "D-d-derek. I-I uh. What are you doing here?" I was shocked. What was he doing here? He looked mad as he realized what was going on. "Sorry to interrupt you guys but I was going to find Meredith because I wanted to say I got hired and started working today," he spat, clearly disgusted. I felt paralyzed. My body was frozen and my mouth couldn't form a word.

I sat paused like that for a couple seconds. The only word I could manage to get out was, "What?" Andrew looked at me, just as shocked as I was. "So get used to seeing me around. I guess I have to get used to this too." He walked out without closing the door. I've known Derek for a long time and I could tell he was enraged.

I thought we both made it clear that we were over. But, I guess not. I still wasn't sure where I stood with my feelings for him. I knew Andrew was good for me, but he was my husband. Wasn't he still technically my husband since we never got a divorce?

Andrew quickly got up, grabbed his bag, and shut the door. He looked at me and said, "He got hired... I-I'll go talk to him out there. I'll fix this." "Andrew no. You'll only make it worse. He doesn't even know your name." "You can't stop me," he said as he put his shirt on. I sighed, knowing that I probably couldn't stop what was about to happen. I watched Andrew walk out the door and as he left, I felt scared for him. It was quiet for a little until I heard a loud voice, probably Derek. I heard a muffled, "No you don't!" That sounded like Derek too. "If you did you wouldn't have left... place..." That sounded like Andrew. What was going on?

I heard someone scream, a woman. I decided to go out there now. I put my lab coat on and with a shaky hand, I opened the door.

The sight made me jump.

I watched as Derek's rock hard fist pounded into Deluca, causing him to crash on the ground. He lowered himself down on top of him. Derek raised his left hand and tried to punch Andrew again but he rolled over before he could, but Derek was still able to get a punch in.

"Derek! What are you doing?!" I yelled. I remembered the last time this happened. It was with Mark.

He wasn't stopping. I looked around for help but there wasn't anyone. "Stop!" I decided to try and break them up. My yelling clearly wasn't working. I tried to grab onto Derek and pull him off when he suddenly stopped. "Huh?" I shot a confused glance. He gripped onto Andrew's shirt and pulled him close and whispered something I couldn't understand before shoving him back on the ground. He got up and came to my side.

"Derek what is wrong with you? You could've-" he cut me off by kissing me. I pulled away. "Derek!" "Meredith," he said mocking me. He put his hand over mine and led me into the on call room that we were once in. I watched Andrew, who was still lying around on the ground holding his face in his hands.

He slammed the door shut and grabbed me, pulling me up against him. I tried to pull away but it was no use. "Derek..."  I managed to get out in a mumble. He pulled away for a second to respond with a quick, "What?" He was holding to my wrists, so I was stuck. "Please... Let me talk." He stopped kissing me while keeping a tight grip around each of my wrists. "What are you doing?" "I'm trying to show you that you still love me and that we're still married. It's ok I'll forgive you for whatever his name is." I stared at him, flabbergasted. "No that's not what I meant. I meant why did you start a fight with him?" He smirked at me and blatantly said, "Jealously's a bitch, huh?" He began kissing my neck which made me laugh.

"That still gives you no right to-" He cut me off, "You don't know him, he's not who he says he is. Let me show you that. And while we're here let me show you this."  He removed his hold on my wrists and told me to stay on the bed. He left the room quickly. What does he mean that Andrew isn't who I thought he was? Why should I trust Derek though?

Derek came back with a bag. A bag that I recognized. Andrew's bag. "Do you want to see who he really is?" Derek asked me. "This isn't right to go through his things like this," I said but I was still curious so I gave in, "Ok fine."

Derek reached into the bag and pulled out one of my mother's journals. The same journal that went missing from the kitchen. He lied to me about this journal. All I could think to say was, "What? Why does he have that?" "There's more," he said. He reached in again, this time, extracting a letter. "Read it," Derek said placing the letter in my hands.

The letter read,
"Dear Andrea,

I hope it isn't a bother to write a letter instead of using email or text. I like it, it seems more personal and romantic. I hope you are doing well, I know Seattle isn't exactly Rome.
I thought I should let you know that I wanted to answer your question now and say yes. Of course I will marry you. So you don't have to act so desperate anymore.
How's your friend Mervan doing? You wrote about him like he's a god or something. I don't know what a Harper Avery Award is but I'm sure it must be pretty important. Tell Mervan to share the secrets of surgery with you sometime, so you can make enough money to cheat the system.
I should probably wrap this up now. T-minus 267 days. Love you forever, even if we're on two different continents.

il tuo amore
-Bella"
