Meredith's POV

I ran out of that room as fast as I could. The only thing I could think of was finding Andrew. I know he's probably worried about me, but now I know what I want.

And that's him.

I assumed he was paged into the ER and it turned into a surgery, so I checked the OR board.

I scanned the list of names, and I was right. I guess that'll have to wait. My shift was going to end in a couple of hours, so I was hoping to stick around for him somewhere.

I got a snack out of the vending machine and went to the resident's lounge. I sat by his locker and waited. I decided to text him so he would know where to meet me.

"Come to the residents lounge when you're done."

About an hour passed and at this point, I was pacing around the room.

How long is that surgery?, I thought to myself. I checked my text messages and smiled.

It said he read my message five minutes ago, so he should be here soon. I sat back down at his locker.

A couple minutes later, he was there. He saw me and smiled at me. He immediately went up to kiss me. I accepted it but pushed back.

"Dr. Deluca..." I said. He looked mad when I called him that. "Sorry, Andrew. I just don't want people to see us like this."
"Right sorry," he replied.
"I need to tell you something," I told him.
"Yeah?"
"Derek is gone..." I went on to explain what happened in the on call room and how badly I felt about what happened between them. I explained that he left and won't be coming back. I told him about the lie Derek told about him and then I told him something else.

"I don't know how you feel, but I do."
"Yeah?" he asked smiling.
"I love you and I want to be with you," I told him.

He smiled even bigger.
"Really?" he questioned.
"Yes of course I do. I trust you completely and I want to wake up next to you," I told him.
"Well of course I want that too," he replied.
"So..."
"We're dating?" he asked.
"Yes. We are officially dating."

We kissed for a little until Andrew's pager went off.
"Sorry I gotta go do post ops," he said.
"Ok bye! See you," I told him.

I watched as he walked out of the room. Before he got to the door, he turned back and walked towards me. He kissed me and then ran out of the room. I laughed at him.

I was about to leave, and then I saw Dr. Helm standing in the door.

"Oh hey Dr. Grey."
"Hi Dr. Helm."
"So, you and Deluca huh?" she asked.
"Umm... Don't you have work to do?" I asked her blushing.
"My shift just ended," she told me.
"Were you watching the whole time?"
"Uhhh... It's none of my business," she said going to her locker. I walked out, feeling her eyes on me as I left.

That was weird...

I walked outside of the hospital and felt happy again. Andrew and I are finally together...
