MEREDITHS POV

It's been a year since I've officially started dating Andrew. There have been up and downs, but I'm happy I've stuck with him.

I never thought that what happened last year would've happened until it did. I still think about Derek from time to time, and it's starting to hurt less and less. I don't think it will ever not hurt, but when I wake up with Andrew next to me, I feel safe and complete.

Then he woke up and saw me staring at him.
"Were you just staring at me?" he asked groggily.
"Yeah sorry. You're too cute to look away."

He didn't say anything back, but he just stared at me with the biggest smile.

ANDREWS POV
I woke up today and felt safe and complete. When she told me I'm 'too cute to look away', I smiled at her. But inside I was thinking, I'm gonna marry you. Little did she know I actually planned this, and I bought a ring.

It isn't the most expensive ring ever because I'm still a resident, but it's something. I showed it to Maggie, Carina, and Amelia and they all loved it. That's good enough for me.

They're also helping me plan the surprise proposal for Mer. I want it to be really special. This past year has been one of the best years of my life.

MEREDITHS POV

I feel like Andrew has been avoiding me this week. He's been sneaking around with Maggie and Amelia and I've been worried every time.

He told me he wanted to see me after work and to meet him back at the house. I couldn't stop thinking about it all the way home. I walked up to the door and saw lights on. I opened the door and walked in.

My jaw dropped.

The house was filled with candles and photos of Andrew and I. I walked into the living room and there was even more. I felt tears forming in my eyes.

I walked into the kitchen and it smelled so good. I saw Carina, which I thought was weird.

"Carina? What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Hey! Go upstairs, Andrea is waiting for you," she told me.

I weaved my way through the mess of it all and went towards the stair case. I smiled as I walked to the top of the stairs. I walked into my bedroom and there he was.

He had his guitar wrapped around him and was stringing some notes, when he saw me. He jumped up and smiled at me.

"Meredith, you're here!"
"Yeah I am. What is going on?" I asked.

He didn't answer.

"Ok sit down and tell me what you think about his," he said patting on the bed. I sat down as he stood opposite of me.

He started playing a song now. I recognized it immediately, Adore You by Harry Styles. I smiled. I told him a long time ago that I love Harry Styles and I can't believe he remembered for this. Also, Adore You is my favorite song by him. I can't believe it.

I watch as his fingers hit the notes effortlessly. He played his guitar beautifully.

"Walk in your rainbow paradise," he sang. He isn't the best singer, but I was felt tears again.

"Strawberry lipstick state of mind."

"I get so lost in your eyes."

"Would you believe it?"

"You don't have to say-" he stopped because I was full on sobbing at this point. He smiled at me and asked what was wrong.

"Nothing, this is just perfect. You're perfect," I said.
He kneeled down at wiped a tear from my eye.
